Bangalore Watch Company has announced it has successfully tested an Apogee wristwatch in Space in pursuit of what it called producing world-class watches that tell stories from modern India. The prototype watch completed a Stratospheric flight by travelling 114,000 feet (35 kilometers) into the Earth’s atmosphere and returned safely to Earth in full working condition, the company said in a press release. “We launched the Apogee collection in 2021 as a celebration of the Indian space program. Since then, the Apogee has taken the moniker of ‘the Indian space watch’. We didn’t want to stop at creating watches that were merely inspired by Space. We wanted to see if we could build them to be qualified and tested for space”, said Mercy Amalraj, co-founder of Bangalore Watch Company.

KKR and Apax have signed the binding agreement for the acquisition of Bengaluru based Healthium Medtech and likely to make a formal announcement as early as Monday, the people mentioned above added. Healthium is the largest manufacturer of surgical needles globally by volume. Moneycontrol was the first to report on Saturday that KKR was the highest bidder for Healthium.

JSW Neo Energy and Sekura Energy are among five bidders that have made non-binding offers to acquire a controlling stake in Ayana Renewable Power, majority owned by National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), according to people aware of the matter. The offers were submitted on April 19. The others in the fray include Masdar, Sembcorp and Macquarie, according to the people cited. The bids were submitted after allowing time to the suitors to conduct a limited due diligence that included access to some data and confidential financial information. As the next step, NIIF will communicate a shortlist of suitors over the next few weeks after which two or at best three will be allowed to conduct detailed due diligence, according to the sources.

ET arrested Parvinder Singh last week after it raided his residence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. ET had reported on April 27 that in a rare instance, ED, while teaming up with the US authorities, carried out a search in Haldwani to assist the US sleuths unravel Singh's involvement in an international drug racket. After Singh's arrest, Parvinder was remanded to ED's custody till May 4. His interrogation led to the recovery of 268 bitcoins worth ₹138 crore, said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
