Kolkata Knight Riders seamer Harshit Rana was on Tuesday fined 100 per cent of his match fees and suspended for one match for breaching IPL Code of Conduct during their seven-wicket win over Delhi Capitals here. He was also seen appealing excessively after hitting Rasikh Salam high on his pads. «Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. HC asks Ashneer Grover not to create third party rights in shares transferred by BharatPe cofounder
Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked payment app BharatPe's former MD Ashneer Grover not to transfer or create any third-party rights in the shares transferred to him by the company's co-founder Bhavik Koladiya. Justice Prateek Jalan passed the interim order on a lawsuit by Koladiya seeking to reclaim the shares he transferred to his erstwhile colleague. The judge opined that the plaintiff, Koladiya, made out a prima facie case for the grant of such an injunction as he would suffer irreparable loss and prejudice if third-party rights were created in the shares being claimed by him.

Centre should urgently address alleged side-effects of Covishield, says Delhi health minister
Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday said the Centre should work to urgently address the alleged side-effects of the Covidshield vaccine as millions of people in India were administered the shit during the Covid pandemic. Bharadwaj expressed concern over the alleged link between the vaccine's side-effects and a series of sudden deaths in India, claiming that Covidshield was banned in several European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Finland, Norway and Denmark, at the beginning of 2021 due to apprehensions about its safety. UK-headquartered pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has admitted that in «very rare cases», its COVID-19 vaccine can cause a blood clot-related side-effect but the causal link is unknown, according to court papers being quoted in the UK media. The Daily Telegraph reported that in a legal document submitted to the High Court in London in February for a group action brought by 51 claimants, AstraZeneca admitted that the vaccine developed with the University of Oxford to protect against COVID-19 may cause Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS) in «very rare cases».

Partition of India broke Northeast's natural connectivity: S Jaishankar at Kirori Mal College
Jaishankar on Monday said the partition of India in many ways broke the natural connectivity of the northeastern states and impacted the growth in the area due to political barriers as well as administrative issues. Jaishankar was addressing an event in Delhi University's Kirori Mal College on the topic 'Northeast India's Integration with South East Asia and Japan: Balancing Economic Ties and Ecological Conservation'. «The consequence of the partition of India broke in many ways the natural connectivity that the Northeast had or would have enjoyed. As a result of that, the levels of growth that the Northeast should have seen was slowed down. In the first few decades after the partition, the Northeast did not enjoy the advantages which other parts of the country did because of political barriers and administrative issues,» Jaishankar said while speaking to students. The Union minister also added that the current economic stability in the Northeast is moving towards a stronger front.
