Animoca Brands, a metaverse and gaming venture capital firm, has raised $20 million to expand its Web3 identity project Mocaverse.

Humanity Protocol, the artificial intelligence startup behind the new “Proof of Humanity (PoH)” identity verification technology, teased “several major partnerships” in a Monday interview with Cryptonews.

Humanity Protocol has achieved unicorn status following a recent funding round that raised $30 million, resulting in a valuation of $1 billion.

The crypto exchange Blockchain.com has successfully raised $110 million in its latest Series E funding round. This substantial financial boost was led by Kingsway Capital, a UK-based investment management firm.

Amid the dwindling venture capital investing in the crypto and blockchain industry, Bitcoin start-up firm, River, has secured a $35 million Series B funding. 

The tide might have gone out on Bitcoin Ordinals, but there’s a strong undercurrent of investments in Bitcoin-only companies. River, a U.S.-based Bitcoin (BTC) technology and financial services company is the latest to make a splash. 

Independent game developer CCP Games, known for its multiplayer online game Eve Online, has announced that it has secured $40 million in financing from external partners to develop a new AAA title set in the Eve universe. 

Digital asset infrastructure company Blockstream has raised $125 million to finance its Bitcoin (BTC) mining colocation services, underscoring heightened demand for its institutional hosting services amid the bear market. 

Major crypto company Blockchain.com is allegedly in talks over down-round fundraising that could see its valuation slashed by more than 70%. 

Blockchain gaming firm, Animoca Brands, has achieved a $5.5 billion company valuation following the completion of its latest fundraising round which attracted $75.3 million from investors, including Liberty City Ventures and Kingsway Capital.

Animoca Brands' Japanese unit raised $45 million in financing at a $500 million pre-money valuation.

Even with the onset of crypto winter, 2022 has been a watershed year for venture capital funding. Crypto and blockchain companies collectively raised $30.3 billion in venture capital in the first half of 2022, exceeding all of last year's totals. Blockchain gaming and venture studio Animoca Brands has closed another strategic funding round, giving the company additional resources to expand its acquisition targets in the metaverse sector. 

It is offering a business account which provides a ‘Know Your Business’ process for access to GBP/EUR/USD and digital asset wallets. Firms can manage settlement, exchange and payment from a single account interface.This interface also hosts BVNK Yield, where clients can put their capital to work and earn interest; and BVNK Markets for large volume digital asset trades.

NFT platform Rario raised $120 million in Series A funding from Dream Capital, the corporate venture capital arm of Dream Sports. Other investors participating in the funding round include Alpha Wave Global (previously Falcon Edge Capital) with existing investors like Animoca Brands (global leader in Web3 gaming), Presight Capital, and Kingsway Capital. Rario created the first-ever cricket NFT platform and has the largest share of cricket NFT rights through partnerships with 6 global cricket leagues and over 900 cricket professionals.

Mumbai: Crypto trading exchange CoinDCX has raised $135.9 million (about Rs 1,000 crore) from investors led by Pantera Capital and Steadview Capital, doubling its valuation to $2.15 billion in less than a year to become the most valued crypto trading platform in India. The funding comes in the backdrop of crypto exchanges facingnewly introduced taxation rules in India. CoinDCX and its peers, like WazirX and CoinSwitch Kuber, have seen their volumes plummet to new lows this month due to restricted access to modes of depositing money for users. According to the company, Pantera Capital and Steadview Capital infused about half of the funds in the latest round, which also saw participation from Kingsway Capital, DraperDragon, Republic, and Kindred Ventures.

Philippine Cryptocurrency Exchange (PDAX) raised $50 million on Thursday, Feb 10, from a Series B round led by Tiger Global management.
