A person with knowledge of the talks says Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is working on a deal to sell a majority stake in the NBA franchise to the family that runs the Las Vegas Sands casino company

Mark Cuban is selling a majority stake of the Dallas Mavericks to Miriam Adelson, the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, several media reports said Tuesday. Cuban would keep shares in the team and maintain control of the Mavs' basketball operations, reports said. The NBA Board of Governors must approve the transaction. Bloomberg News and Sportico reported that Miriam Adelson was selling $2 billion of stock in Las Vegas Sands Corp.

(Reuters) — The Detroit Casino Council said on Friday it has reached a tentative agreement for a new contract covering 3,700 workers at MGM Grand Detroit operated by MGM Resorts (NYSE:MGM), Hollywood Casino at Greektown operated by Penn and MotorCity Casino.

The incident prompted the cancellation of the first practice session and a delay of two and a half hours for repairs and safety checks on every manhole cover on the 6.2km track. The unprecedented delays led to the second practice session starting at 2.30 am local time, marking the latest start time in F1 history. Fans, who had eagerly anticipated the event, were kicked out of the grandstands at 1.30 am due to logistical reasons, further adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
