Union Home Minister Amit Shah also joined in, sending heartfelt greetings to the citizens on this holy occasion. He prayed to 'Vighnaharta- Shri Ganpati Bappa' for their well-being. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde joined the chorus of greetings, extending his wishes to the people on this joyous occasion. The celebrations have already begun with a morning 'Aarti' at the historic Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, attracting a large gathering of devotees. In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a creatively designed pandal, resembling Bharat's successful lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 aircraft, is set to captivate the public. Kolkata has also witnessed the artistic fervor of Ganesh Utsav committees with elaborately designed pandals featuring unique themes.

Airfares for the Navratri season on some routes have doubled compared to the levels seen last year as well as in the pre-covid year of 2019, while fares in other routes remain elevated, data from travel portal Ixigo showed. Average fares for a Bengaluru-Kolkata flight during the second half of the Navratri period have shot up to over ₹14,000 from nearly ₹7,000 in the same period a year ago.

MUMBAI : Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi is overhauling its syllabus after a decade to weave in sustainability and bring in flexibility in engineering courses to engage the younger generation. The institute, established in 1961, is reaching out to India Inc, recruiters and education consultants to bring in more experiential ways of learning. The publicly funded institute is concerned that its corpus of ₹600 crore falls way short of what it needs— ₹10,000-12,000 crore—to build infrastructure and offer better options to grow the institute.

Mumbai police issue traffic guidelines for Ganesh festival
traffic restrictions will be in place in different parts of Mumbai during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations starting from September 19, but there will be no curbs on vehicles supplying essential commodities. Idol immersion processions, which take place on different days of the festival starting from the second day, attract massive crowds of devotees as people from all over the city and also outside come to witness the grand event, leading to a surge in pedestrian and vehicular traffic, which may be aggravated by plying of heavy vehicles and private buses, a traffic department official said. Therefore, some traffic arrangements have been made for heavy vehicles and private buses from September 19 to 29, he said. There shall be complete restriction on movement of all types of heavy vehicles and private buses in south Mumbai on September 21, 24, 26 and 29, said the official. On other days between September 19 and 29, heavy vehicles are allowed to ply in south Mumbai between 00:00 hours and 07:00 hours, he said.

Two managing partners leave early-stage investment firm Orios; expected to start new fund
Orios Venture Partners (VP) on Monday had two of its managing partners, Anup Jain and Rajeev Suri, step down in back-to-back announcements on professionals networking platform LinkedIn. Jain and Suri are set out to launch a fund independently, sources in the know told ET. “Rajeev Suri who was heading investor relations and Anup Jain who was part of the investing team have departed. Rehan Yar Khan, the founding partner, continues to head fund investments along with a nine member team,” a spokesperson from Orios VP said in a statement. The Mumbai-based firm said it will continue to look to make eight to ten investments a year.
