₹3.72 lakh, a report by the Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) has revealed. The list of poorest Rajya Sabha MPs includes two MPs from AAP as the party's fiery spokesperson Sanjay Singh is also on the list with total assets of ₹6.60 lakh. The second poorest Rajya Sabha MP is BJP's Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba from Manipur who has assets worth ₹5.48 lakh.

The cases against Margadarsi include various Indian Penal Code sections, such as 409 (Criminal breach of trust by a public servant), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (Using a forged document as genuine), 477–A (Falsification of accounts), 120B (Criminal conspiracy), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), in conjunction with Section 34, and Section 5 of the Andhra Pradesh Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act.

Sorin Investments, a technology-focussed fund, co-founded by former KKR India head and private equity veteran Sanjay Nayar and Angad Banga, has raised a corpus of over Rs 1,000 crore for the second close of its maiden fund. It had raised around $100 million (approximately Rs 800 crore) in its first close last year. The tech-focused investment firm’s fundraise comes at a time when the Indian tech startup ecosystem is facing a funding crunch that has seen several investors slash down the valuations of several major Indian tech companies. Investors in the fund include Henry Kravis, George Roberts and other partners of the American global investment firm KKR & Co as well as Hero Enterprise chairperson Sunil Kant Munjal and a few other global and Indian family offices. Nayar and Banga were formerly associated with KKR. Nayar founded Sorin after a four-decade career spanning banking and private equity. Nayar and Banga have also invested a significant amount of their personal capital in the fund as sponsor commitments, they said in an earlier interview without disclosing the sum. The fund focuses on early-stage technology startups across various industries like fintech, edtech, software as a service (Saas), logistics, clean technologies and direct-to-consumer products and brands. It aims to invest between $2-10 million in target companies.

Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Sunday claimed that his nephew Ajit Pawar and others, who have formed a government with BJP in the state, had done so «to avoid going to prison» as they had Enforcement Directorate (ED) probes against them. «For some reason or other, they were being probed by the ED… They were told, 'we will not proceed with the cases, if you join us but if you don't, then you will be somewhere else'.

Sanjay Raut on Sunday claimed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar will not make the «mistake» of joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party, like his nephew Ajit Pawar. Haryana government on Saturday shifted 16 IAS officers and 28 HCS officers with immediate effect. Among them, seven deputy commissioners were transferred, according to an official order. Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sushil Sarwan has been posted as deputy commissioner Panchkula, replacing IAS officer Priyanka Soni, according to the order.

Arvind Kejriwal on Monday alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has broken «all records of corruption» after the Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) of India reportedly flagged the «very high» construction cost of the Dwarka Expressway. According to media reports, the CAG audit report on the implementation of Phase-I of 'Bharatmala Pariyojana' highway projects has flagged how the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) decision to go for an elevated carriageway on the Haryana portion of the Dwarka Expressway pushed up the construction cost to Rs 251 crore per kilometer from Rs 18.2 crore per kilometer.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd plans to phase out fuel exports in the next two to three years as it expands its local retail network to diversify its sources of revenue, its managing director said.MRPL, a subsidiary of state-controlled Oil and Natural Gas Corp, operates a 300,000 barrel-per-day coastal refinery in southern Karnataka state, mostly supplying the state refiners that own about 90% of India's retail fuel stations and exporting the remainder.Sanjay Varma told Reuters that MRPL plans to expand its retail outlets in southern India to 1800 by 2027 from about 71 now. «When refining margins are low (retailers) make a handsome profit because marketing margins are good.

Justice Sameer Dave refused a stay on the application moved by the legal team of Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh in the Gujarat High Court. The hearing will resume in the lower court as a summons had been issued to Kejriwal and Singh for Friday.

Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh's plea seeking a stay on the criminal defamation proceedings against them filed by the Gujarat University in connection with remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's degree. While refusing to grant a stay on the defamation proceedings underway at a metropolitan court here against the two leaders, Justice Samir Dave noted that both of them had earlier given an assurance to the sessions court that they will remain present before the metropolitan court to record their statement.

Supreme Court verbally observed on Thursday that the moot question over the abrogation of Article 370 which needed to be decided was whether the process followed was flawed or not. It will be difficult to say that Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu & Kashmir, cannot be amended, a five-member constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud observed.

A journalist in Jalgaon who had criticised the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was on Wednesday beaten up in public. Sandeep Mahajan has alleged that Pachora Shiv Sena MLA Kishore Patil had sent his men to beat him up after an audio clip went viral in which Patil is abusing Mahajan for criticising Shinde. Mahajan had put up a post calling the CM’s visit to the family of an 8-year-old girl who was raped and murdered as an ‘eye wash’. Following the post, Patil had called up Mahajan and had given the choicest abuses as well as threatened him. The expletive-ridden audio clip had gone viral and Patil has admitted that it was him abusing Mahajan. On Wednesday, Mahajan was beaten up by three youths who pulled him down from his scooter while he was travelling and then assaulted him. While the journalist has claimed that it was Mahajan’s men who had assaulted him, Patil had ‘condemned the incident’ and claimed his people were not involved in the assault. The video of the assault of the journalist has gone viral with the Maharashtra opposition questioning the ‘goonda raj’ of those in the government. The attack comes after another incident in which Magathane Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve’s son, Raj, abducted RK Singh, CEO of a music company, at gunpoint and took him to Surve’s office and forced him to sign some papers. The police have now named the MLA’s son in a complaint filed by the Singh.
