Action plans for banana, mangoes exports among 20 agricultural products in works
action plans for around 20 agricultural products including banana, mangoes, potato and baby corn to boost their exports and these are likely to be ready in the next 3-4 months. “We have identified 20 products. At present, India’s share is low in global exports. We are working on a detailed action for all these products,” said Rajesh Agarwal, additional secretary, department of commerce, adding that the action plan will be discussed with all the stakeholders including states for further action. Fresh grapes, pomegranate, watermelon, guava, green chilly, capsicum, okra, garlic, onion, groundnut, alcoholic beverages, cashew nut, buffalo meat, jaggery, natural honey, and ghee are the other products included in the exercise as India aims to increase its share in global exports to 4-5% in the next few years from 2.5% now.

B2B marketplace ProcMart bags $30 million in funding
ProcMart, an online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace specialising in supply chain solutions, has raised $30 million (about Rs 250 crore) in an equity funding round led by Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani’s venture fund Fundamentum Partnership and Edelweiss Discovery Fund. The round also saw participation from South Korea’s Paramark Ventures. Around 80 per cent of the participants are concerned about the impact of plastic on the health of loved ones, according to the survey conducted by the independent environmental network Greenpeace International in January and February. The survey collected responses from 19,088 participants from the UK, the UAE, Canada, India, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Austria, Norway and the US. Govt allows Kala namak rice export from 6 customs stations
government Tuesday allowed exports of Kala Namak rice up to an aggregate quantity of 1,000 metric tonnes through six specified customs stations. Their exports were prohibited till now. “Authorized signatory for certification of Kala Namak rice and its quantity will be Director, Agriculture Marketing & Foreign Trade, Lucknow,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
