Palau first began working with Ripple on the stablecoin in 2021, hoping to have the project up and running in the first half of 2022.It is now ready for the first phase of a pilot programme, involving around 200 government employees and local merchants.The US-backed Palau Stablecoin will be issued on Ripple's carbon neutral blockchain, XRP Ledger.Palau will also tap the Ripple CBDC platform, enabling the island to holistically manage and customise the entire lifecycle of the stablecoin, including distribution and transactions.

The XRP price has risen by 2% in the past 24 hours, rising to $0.716275 after the Federal Reserve raised its base rate by 0.25% yesterday.

The government of Palau is set to begin a pilot project for a United States dollar-backed stablecoin on July 26. The new coin will be issued on XRP Ledger.

Recently, the Binance exchange supported the SUI token through its Launchpad for TUSD and BNB holders.  According to the official information, Binance will supply 40 million SUI tokens, with 20% of them for TUSD stakers, and 80% for BNB stakers. Launchpad is Binance’s (BNB) bootstrapping portal, where it sells tokens of new crypto projects.

G20 ministerial in Goa and Chennai, ministers from 14 countries including the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Vanuatu, Colombia, have under the banner of the High Ambition Coalition called on G20 hosts India and other members to agree on measures such as phasing out fossil fuel use to ensure that average increase in global temperature does not exceed 1.5°C compared to the 1850s. “We urge you, as leaders of the G20, to accelerate your efforts to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions, to expand your cooperation and lead the way in phasing out all fossil fuels and in transitioning to a green sustainable energy future where access to energy is guaranteed for all,” the ministers wrote in an open letter to the G20.

The XRP price has dropped by 2.5% in the past 24 hours, falling to $0.425150 as the cryptocurrency market as a whole declines by 1%.

Given the market slowdown, the XRP price prediction remains bearish as it struggles below the $0.3715 level. Despite occasional setbacks, like the bankruptcies and arrests of some of its previous major players, several governments are eager to join the crypto bandwagon and are considering the formation of national stablecoins.

RNS.id, a digital Web3 identity platform developed to support the application and issuance of sovereignty-backed IDs, announced on Nov. 30 that it is integrating with zkSync for on-chain KYC. RNS.ID indicated in a release shared with Cointelegraph that its on-chain KYC solution is designed on a “privacy engine” to encrypt users' identity attributes or properties into different “hashed slices” with multiple signature verifications.

The Republic of Palau announced Friday that it will issue identification cards to its digital residents in the form of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) on Binance’s BNB Chain blockchain. Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) was on hand in the Pacific Island nation for the unveiling of the NFTs and to meet with Palauan President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr.
