Continuing to do everything to improve the visas process and green card backlog says White House
H1B visa process, 'green card' backlog and other issues related to the country's legal immigration system, the White House has said. The H1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in speciality occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. «One of the steps, if we look at the H1B visa process, we have taken action to improve that and the process and backlog for lawful permanent residents (green card) who are eligible to become US citizens,» White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at her daily news conference on Wednesday. She was responding to questions about the feeling among a section of Indian Americans that the president is not putting as much effort on addressing the woes of legal immigrants as he is doing for illegal immigrants.

US hopes QUAD will continue its momentum under India's presidency: White House
QUAD continues the momentum of its past three years under India's presidency in 2024, the White House has said. «The president (Joe Biden) is incredibly proud of the progress QUAD has made over the past three years,» White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at her daily news conference on Wednesday. Members of the QUAD — the US, Australia, India and Japan — had held their first summit at the White House in March 2021. «The (QUAD's) anniversary is coming up and we are hoping to continue that momentum in 2024, under India's host year, as you just stated. And, we are talking about not just the United States, obviously, India, Japan and Australia,» Jean-Piere said in response to a question.

Prince Harry to seek appeal after losing court challenge over security
King Charles III launched the legal action after the British government told him in February 2020 that he would no longer be given the "same degree" of publicly-funded protection when in the UK. Harry, the Duke of Sussex, sensationally relocated to North America in 2020 with his wife Meghan Markle, eventually settling in California in the United States, and is no longer classified as a working royal. High Court judge Peter Lane said in a 52-page judgement that the "bespoke process" devised for him by a committee which is under the remit of the interior ministry "was, and is, legally sound".
