United States starts prep to turn your visa paperless; will this make your life easier?
visa process, the Biden administration has successfully completed a pilot project for issuing «paperless visas,» potentially eliminating the need for physical visa stamps or pasting on passport pages. The initial phase took place at the diplomatic mission in Dublin, with plans to gradually implement this innovative approach. Julie Stufft, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Visa Services, shared insights during a media round table organized by the Foreign Press Centre, saying, «We did our first small scope pilot of a paperless visa, which means that the visa process is the same but there's no physical visa in someone's passport.» She emphasized that while the process remains the same, the absence of a physical paper in the passport is a notable shift. The pilot project has showcased promising results, with visitors successfully navigating the process, particularly for immigrant visas.

Crypto Week at Glance: Bitcoin trades sideways amid SEC's ETF approval delay
Bitcoin, as it traded within the range of US$37,000 to US$37,600. The market's equilibrium during this period can be attributed to the prevailing regulatory uncertainty in the United States. Investors are digesting the fallout from regulatory actions taken against some players in the industry. Amidst this, optimism lies in the anticipation of the approval of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). However, recent indications suggest that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) might defer this decision until 2024. Currently, Bitcoin is trading at the US$37,400 level, reflecting a 3% increase on the weekly chart, a 7% gain month-to-date, and an impressive 125% surge year-to-date. The cryptocurrency is consolidating its position and may initiate another rally if it successfully surpasses the US$38,000 resistance zone. If not, it could trigger a fresh decline, with immediate support situated at the US$37,200 level. Meanwhile, Ethereum is currently positioned above the US$2,000 level, consolidating gains and eyeing potential advancement toward the US$2,150 level.

Bitcoin retakes $38,000 while rate cut expectations increase
Bitcoin climbed back above $38,000 on Tuesday amid optimism the US central bank may be closer to lowering borrowing costs if inflation continues to decline. The largest cryptocurrency by market value gained as much as 3.3% to $38,264 before trimming the increase. Bitcoin reached an 18-month high of $38,422 on Friday. Lower rates generally increase investors’ appetite for riskier assets such as digital tokens. “As rates reverse, investors will return to risk assets in search of better returns,” said Michael Safai, partner at quantitative trading firm Dexterity Capital. “This, coupled with the momentum that crypto has built in recent months with ETFs and putting FTX in the rear-view mirror, has traders feeling like the conditions for a new bull run are coming together.” Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he’s encouraged by a recent slowing of economic activity, which may indicate the central bank’s policy is tight enough. He made the comments as part of prepared remarks Tuesday for an event at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington.
