Ryan Salame, the former co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, is reportedly planning to plead guilty to criminal charges related to his alleged involvement in illicit activities at the failed cryptocurrency exchange.

Former co-CEO of FTX Digital Market Ryan Dalame plans a guilty plea over criminal charges associated with the collapse of FTX in November. 

Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, lost an initial appeal to return to being free on bail prior to his criminal trial.

The United States Attorney’s Office has filed an affirmation of the denial of bail to former FTX CEO Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried, claiming that he could attempt witness tampering and stating that no release conditions would assure the safety of the witnesses. Prosecutors responded to several claims made in his appeal against the bail revocation, calling it “meritless.”

FTX debtors have disclosed a series of financial statements that show top executives used company funds to their own advantage shortly before the cryptocurrency exchange collapsed.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan had on Aug. 11 revoked bail for the 31-year-old former billionaire after finding probable cause to believe he tampered with witnesses. That came after he shared with a New York Times reporter personal writings belonging to his former colleague and romantic partner, Caroline Ellison, from before FTX's November 2022 collapse. Ellison is one of three former members of Bankman-Fried's inner circle

Lawyers representing Sam Bankman-Fried, or SBF, have filed an appeal claiming the former FTX CEO’s bail was revoked “in retaliation for him exercising his First Amendment rights” and not witness tampering as alleged.

Sam Bankman-Fried's attorneys have raised concerns regarding the measures taken by authorities for their client's upcoming criminal trial in October. In an August 25 submission to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the legal representatives argued that the measures proposed by the prosecutors were not adequate for the FTX founder to fully prepare for his trial.

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is due back in court on Tuesday for the first time since a US judge revoked his bail and sent him to jail, and is expected to plead not guilty to a new indictment alleging fraud and conspiracy charges. The 31-year-old former billionaire has been behind bars since Aug. 11, when US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan revoked his bail for allegedly tampering with witnesses at least twice.

United States prosecutors have put forward their proposed instructions to the jury ahead of the October trial for FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried.

Judge Lewis Kaplan has granted a request by federal prosecutors to revoke Bankman-Fried's bail and he will be remanded to custody ahead of his trial, which is slated to begin on 2 October.The judge concluded that there was probable cause to believe that Bankman-Fried has tried to “tamper with witnesses at least twice” since his arrest in December in connection with the collapse of FTX, the cryptocurrency exchange he founded.Prosecutors asked the judge to revoke bail after Bankman-Fried shared private diary entries of his ex-girlfriend, Caroline Ellison, to the New York Times. Ellison, the former chief executive of Bankman-Fried's crypto hedge fund Alameda Research, pleaded guilty to federal charges in December and is cooperating with the prosecution and is expected to testify against her former boyfriend.
