She died on Friday at her Washington home at the age of 90. Feinstein served Senate for thirty years and was the key person in moving many important bills in the house.

Since her return, she has occasionally exhibited signs of frailty and confusion. Feinstein was slated to attend a city cable car celebration on August 2 but missed it due to a developing cough, as reported by the Chronicle. The first female mayor of San Francisco, Feinstein was elected to the US Senate in 1992 and led Democrats on the judiciary committee from 2017 to 2021. Similar issues concerning age and health have arisen for other prominent US politicians. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, aged 81, has experienced several falls, and concerns have been raised about his fitness for office.
