Donald Trump has won Missouri's Republican caucuses, one of three events Saturday that will award delegates for the GOP presidential nomination. The former president, who is especially strong in caucuses, was adding to his delegate lead in Republican caucuses in Missouri as well as at a party convention in Michigan. Idaho was scheduled to hold its caucuses later Saturday. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, meanwhile, is still seeking her first win.

Nikki Haley in the presidential primary after her latest defeat in South Carolina. The group, Americans for Prosperity Action, had spent tens of millions of dollars trying to elevate Haley and prevent the renomination of Donald Trump, but it had already slowed its spending in the GOP race dramatically after Haley fell short in the New Hampshire primary last month. The organization made its decision official Sunday.

Nikki Haley says it's not «the end of our story» despite Donald Trump's easy primary victory in South Carolina, her home state where the onetime governor had long suggested her competitiveness with the former president would show. Defying calls from South Carolina Republicans to exit the race, Haley planned to travel Sunday to Michigan, which holds its primary on Tuesday.

Speaking in South Carolina's Charleston, Haley said, «I'm a woman of my word,» referring to her earlier remarks about staying in the presidential race until Super Tuesday. She said, «I'm not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.»

Donald Trump is hoping to use a sizeable victory in South Carolina's Republican primary on Saturday to convince rival Nikki Haley to drop out of the presidential race. While the outcome is expected to put Trump even closer to clinching the party's nomination, Haley has vowed to press on. Here are some takeaways from the South Carolina primary:

A 2020 general rematch between Trump and President Joe Biden is becoming increasingly inevitable. Haley has vowed to stay in the race through at least the batch of primaries on March 5, known as Super Tuesday, but was unable to dent Trump's momentum in her home state despite holding far more campaign events and arguing that the indictments against Trump will hamstring him against Biden.
