Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released the first list of 52 candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections, set to be held on November 30. Members of Parliament Soyam Bapu Rao, Arvind Dharmapuri and Bandi Sanjay Kumar have been fielded from Boath, Koratla and Karimnagar, respectively, while MLA T Raja Singh is set to contest from Goshamahal. Of the 52 candidates, 12 are women, while 14 candidates are from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe backgrounds. Earlier today, the national party revoked the suspension of Singh, who was suspended by the party in August 2022 for his purported remarks against the Prophet in a video posted on social media. “The central disciplinary committee of the BJP revoked the suspension of Shri T Raja Singh MLA Gosha Mahal from the BJP after due consideration of his explanation in response to the show cause notice served by the party,” a party statement said. Other notable candidates include Eatala Rajender — a former Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader — who is contesting from Huzurabad and Gajwel, where he will go up against current Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Tabreed will invest $200 million to develop 1,25,000 refrigeration tons (RT) of cooling infrastructure for the Hyderabad Pharma City, the company said today. Tabreed (National Central Cooling Company) entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana government on Tuesday to facilitate the establishment of the facility. The project is being taken up on a public-private partnership basis and seeks to provide sustainable long-term cooling services through the cooling-as-a-service model for process cooling and storage requirements of industrial units. “Through this MoU, we aim to showcase the benefits of district cooling to drive sustainable infrastructure development in the region and contribute to Telangana's vision of becoming a model for eco-friendly urbanization.”,” Sudheer Perla, Country Head, Tabreed India, said. The Government of Telangana also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tabreed to explore district cooling infrastructure in existing and upcoming commercial districts of Cyberabad and other mixed-use development areas which offer the potential to reduce over 200 MW of peak electricity demand resulting in CO2 reduction of 18 million tons over a 30-year period while mitigating heat island effect that will further bolster Hyderabad’s position as one of the best cities to live and work in Asia.
