Fundraising from capital markets to jump 21% to over Rs 14 lakh crore in FY25: Madhabi Puri Buch
markets, including through equity and debt instruments, is estimated to jump by nearly 21 per cent to Rs 14.27 lakh crore in FY25 from the Rs 11.8 lakh crore in FY24, Sebi chief Madhabi Puri Buch said on Friday. Buch said in the past nine months of the current fiscal, entities have mobilised Rs 3.3 lakh crore in equity and Rs 7.3 lakh crore from the debt markets, with the overall mop-up reaching Rs 10.7 lakh crore. «If we project for the next quarter (Q4), we will probably end somewhere like over Rs 14 lakh crore raised for the year in terms of capital, both equity and debt,» Buch said addressing a NISM-organised conference here.

IREDA Q3 Results: PAT jumps 27% YoY to Rs 425 crore, revenue surges 36%
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) on Thursday reported a 27% jump in its December quarter net profit at Rs 425.38 crore versus Rs 335.53 reported in the the year ago period. The Q3FY25 total revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,698.45 crore which was up 35.6% versus Rs 1,252.85 crore posted by IREDA in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year. On a sequential basis, the profit after tax (PAT) grew 10% over Rs 387.75 crore reported in Q2FY25. The topline saw a 4.2% uptick on a quarter-on-quarter basis versus Rs 1,629.56 crore reported in the July-September quarter.

Strata gets Sebi license to launch SM-REIT
fractional ownership of commercial real estate, on Friday said it has received the official license from markets regulator Sebi to launch its Small and Medium Real Estate Investment Trust (SM-REIT). The SM-REIT will be named Strata SM REIT, which will enable retail and institutional investors to invest in high-quality commercial assets in major cities. «The company aims to initially launch up to six SM REIT schemes in 2025-26, and gradually increase it to one scheme every month,» Strata said in a statement.

Hindalco arm Novelis raises $750 million via 5-year bonds
Hindalco Industries has raised $750 million (about Rs 6450 crore) by selling five-year bonds through a private placement outside of the US at 6.88%. Novelis intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay $738 million (about Rs 6346 crore) of outstanding borrowings under its revolving credit facility and to use any remaining net proceeds to fund cash on its balance sheet for general corporate purposes, the company said. The US headquartered aluminium maker expects to close the bond placement on January 13. The bonds will be guaranteed by Novelis and certain subsidiaries of the company, the Aditya Birla owned company said in a stock market notice.

India's equity fundraising hits nearly Rs 4 lakh cr in 2024, driven by 3x jump in IPO proceeds
equity fundraising touched a record Rs 3.99 lakh crore in 2024, mainly driven by deluge of initial share sales (IPOs) as investor appetite remained robust throughout the year. Excluding the rights issues, the fundraising from equity was at Rs 3.73 crore, which is a massive 159% increase over the previous year period. According to primedatabase.com, 91 Indian companies raised Rs 1.59 lakh crore through the IPOs, which listed on both the exchanges. This is more than 3 times the amount mobilised by the companies in 2023. The year also saw the biggest IPO from Hyundai, which raised Rs 27,859 crore.
