Meanwhile, the global cryptocurrency market cap was trading higher, around $1.06 trillion, rising 0.29% in the last 24 hours. «The weekend witnessed Bitcoin trading above the $26,000 level, possibly driven by a noteworthy collaboration between Deutsche Bank, Germany's leading bank, and Taurus, a Swiss cryptocurrency startup specializing in secure asset management and tokenization services,» Edul Patel- CEO & Co-founder of Mudrex, said. «Investors are awaiting the Federal Open Market Committee meeting scheduled for September 20, which may influence market dynamics. Bitcoin's next challenge is to surpass the $27,400 resistance level to maintain its upward momentum,» Edul said.

The U.S. Federal Reserve made a significant announcement on Sept. 14, revealing accumulated losses of $100 billion in 2023. What’s more, this situation is expected to worsen for the Fed, according to Reuters. But for risk assets like Bitcoin (BTC), this may actually be a blessing in disguise.

As for ETH, which fell 2.8%, the support of $1,600 has been breached and it is currently trading around $1,550,» Shubham Hudda, Senior Manager, CoinSwitch Markets Desk said. In Hudda's opinion, a major catalyst for SOL’s ($17.95) sell-off is still Wednesday's expectation of FTX unlock, pointing out that this cryptocurrency was already down by around 50% from its recent high in July. «Additionally, given that a majority of the SOL is time-locked for FTX, we could very well see a 'sell the rumor, buy the news’ event playing out on Tuesday,» he added.

Bitcoin experienced a 5% increase after testing the $25,000 support level on Sept. 11. However, this breakout rally doesn’t necessarily indicate a victory for bulls. To put today’s price action in perspective, Bitcoin (BTC) has witnessed a 15% decline since July. In contrast, the S&P 500 index and gold have maintained relatively stable positions during this period.
