Tezos, a layer 1 blockchain, activated an upgrade dubbed Kathmandu on Friday (23 September), according to a tweet from the team. The Kathmandu upgrade reportedly went live on Friday at block 2,736,129 of the Tezos proof-of-stake (PoS) mainnet.

Ethereum, the largest altcoin underwent the much-anticipated Merge that saw it transition into a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus. Well, the mechanism has changed, but ETH continues to give mixed signals to traders.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano and co-founder of Ethereum blockchain, got into a war of words with Ethereum developers on the implementation of proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus via Merge.

Much like the Ethereum Merge, the successful Cardano Vasil hard fork upgrade has not yet sparked significant gains in the days since it went live.

The company issued convertible notes in a funding round which values it at around $5.6 billion, it said.

The Ethereum network's transaction prices (known as gas fees) have declined significantly since 2021, according to The Block.
