Market sentiments are presently bullish as traders await developments on the US Bitcoin Spot ETF applications in the near future, Edul said.

On the other hand, XRP, Dogecoin, and Toncoin declined. BTC encountered a dip to $43,000 during the day, pulling back from its swift ascent to nearly $45,000 earlier this week. This suggests that traders opted to secure profits after the largest crypto's breakout from $38,000 a week ago, said CoinDCX Research Team. On the flip side, ETH witnessed a 5% upswing over the same period, reaching $2,372, marking its highest level since May 2022. This upward movement also positively influenced the prices of other ETH-related cryptocurrencies, positioning them as the top performers of the day. Ethereum's upsurge is credited to heightened institutional interest and the hopeful anticipation of an ETF approval by the SEC, CoinDCX added.

At 11.56 a.m., BTC was trading 2.85% higher at $38,031, while the second most popular token, Ethereum, was up 2.4% at $2,051. Solana also surged over 7% to $58.32. Positive sentiments prevailed in the market as Bitcoin breached the $37,800 threshold. This price movement could reflect that market participants have now absorbed the news about the recent leadership change at Binance, restoring bullish confidence in their investments, said Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex.

Dogecoin also surged over 3.5% to $0.08. «After ending November with gains of 10%, Bitcoin has been trading range bound since yesterday. The buying pressure on BTC continues to surpass the selling pressure, suggesting that investors’ confidence is sustained and optimistic. Additionally, institutional participation continues to rise, with the latest being MicroStrategy's 10% increase of its BTC holding, translating into approx. $600 million worth of BTC,» Parth Chaturvedi, Investments Lead, CoinSwitch Ventures said. While key narratives involving the suspected approval of spot BTC ETF applications in the pipeline are sustaining investor sentiments, any new developments within the space can determine BTC’s future performance, Parth said.

BNB, the cryptocurrency at the heart of the Binance exchange ecosystem, rose as much as 8.5% on optimism that the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange may be putting some its regulatory issues behind it. The US Justice Department is seeking more than $4 billion from Binance Holdings Ltd. as part of a proposed resolution of a years-long investigation, Bloomberg News reported. Negotiations between the Justice Department and Binance include the possibility that its founder Changpeng Zhao would face criminal charges in the US under an agreement to resolve the probe into alleged money laundering, bank fraud and sanctions violations, according to people familiar with the discussions. “I would say it’s a relatively bullish event as it lifts a lot of uncertainty overhang which has been hanging over the market and is not a worst case scenario and doesn’t impact market in a disorderly way directly,” said Shiliang Tang, co-founder of crypto principal trading firm Arbelos Markets. BNB is the native token of the Binance exchange as well as BNB Chain, a blockchain Binance started. It rose to as high as $266.42.

BNB has surged over 7% in the last 24 hours after reports of Binance being involved in a potential $4 billion settlement with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

The weakness has been on account of softer US inflation for the October month which was lower than what the Street was expecting. Chart analysis suggests an ascending triangle with bullish growth, with a break above $38,000 potentially leading to a test of $40,000,» Sathvik said.

Data showed US consumer prices were unchanged in October, and the annual rise in underlying inflation was the smallest in two years. In the 12 months through October, the CPI climbed 3.2% — below economists' estimates — after rising 3.7% in September. Meanwhile, the global cryptocurrency market cap fell by 2.3% to around $1.37 trillion in the last 24 hours. The SEC now has an eight-day period starting today, where all 12 spot bitcoin (BTC) ETF applications could be approved. Otherwise, market participants will have to wait till early 2024 for updates from the SEC,» said Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex. Market sentiment is presently bullish as investors await more information. Notably, Bitcoin’s price has grown by over 115% from the beginning of the year, Edul said.

XRP, BNB, Cardano, Dogecoin, and Polkadot were trading in the red. Bitcoin was up 1.12% at $35,308 as of 12:05 p.m., while Ethereum was below the $1,900 level. Other popular altcoins, including Solana and Toncoin, rose up to 9%. While BNB fell 2.4% and Polkadot dropped 8%. «Bitcoin is currently trading near the $35,300 mark, while altcoins like Solana and Toncoin have surged by more than 6% and 11%, respectively. This recent price action has pushed the total cryptocurrency market's value to a 16-month high of 1.34 trillion dollars. To maintain its momentum, Bitcoin will need to breach the $35,700 threshold; otherwise, it may find support around the $34,200 mark,» said Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex.
