Nicole Kidman admits filming for erotic romance ‘Babygirl’ left her ‘vulnerable & liberated’
Nicole Kidman revealed that filming for her recent movie ‘Babygirl’ left her unnerved. The actress, who earned a standing ovation for her visceral performance as Romy, an ambitious CEO in a torrid affair with an intern, decades her juniour, admitted that the role required her to step out of her comfort zone and made her feel “exposed and vulnerable.” «This definitely leaves me exposed and vulnerable and frightened and all of those things when it's given to the world, but making it with these people here, it was delicate and intimate and very, very deep,» Nicole Kidman revealed in a media interaction ahead of the premiere of the movie. «Right now we're all a bit nervous,» she added. Above all, Kidman said she felt very “liberated” while shooting for ‘Babygirl’, as it explored not just the intricate politics of employer-subordinate power dynamics, but also delved into women’s desires. “This is one woman’s story, and this is, I hope, a very liberating story. It’s told by a woman, through her gaze – Halina (Reijn) wrote it and she directed it and that’s to me what made it so unique because suddenly I was going to be in the hands of a woman with this material. It was very dear to our shared instincts and very freeing,” she said.

OpenAI names political veteran Chris Lehane as head of global policy
funding plans, OpenAI has tapped political veteran Chris Lehane as its vice president of global policy. Lehane held a similar role at Airbnb and served in the Clinton White House as a lawyer and spokesperson who specialized in opposition research. He earned a reputation as «the master of disaster» during his time working for President Bill Clinton. As OpenAI has built increasingly powerful artificial intelligence technologies, it has warned of their potential danger, and it is under pressure from lawmakers, regulators and others across the globe to ensure that these technologies do not cause serious harm. Some researchers worry that the AI systems could be used to spread disinformation, fuel cyberattacks or even destroy humanity.

Students seek clarity as Infosys offers two pre-training rounds
Infosys has asked about 1,500 students from the April 2022 batch having offer letters to appear for two rounds of pre-training. Of the total, India’s second-largest software services company has given September 2 as the joining date to only about 115 students, while the rest remain in a state of flux about their job prospects. Hiring worries at Infosys underscore a broader squeeze in recruitment in the technology sector due to factors such as economic uncertainties and increasing automation. Indian IT firms are under pressure from students, public outcry and worker unions over the onboarding delays. In July, Infosys had called all the selected students for a mandatory virtual pre-training programme for 24 days. Following this, another self-learning module-based pre-training was organised for some students in August which resulted in joining dates allotted to the 115 students. For the remaining students, there is limited clarity on the assessment and confusion of login credentials to some students for the second pre-training round. There have been no rejection letters yet, multiple people including the students told ET.

Behind the arrest of Telegram boss, a small Paris cybercrime unit with big ambitions
Telegram boss Pavel Durov that has fired a warning shot to global tech titans was started by a small cybercrime unit within the Paris prosecutor's office, led by 38-year-old Johanna Brousse. The arrest of Durov, 39, last Saturday marks a significant shift in how some global authorities may seek to deal with tech chiefs reluctant to police illegal content on their platforms. The arrest signalled the mettle of the J3 cybercrime unit, but the true test of its ambitions will be whether Brousse can secure a conviction based on a largely untested legal argument, lawyers said. In an unprecedented move against a major tech CEO, prosecutors argued Durov bears responsibility for the alleged illegality on his platform, placing him under formal investigation on organized crime charges. He is suspected of complicity in running an online platform that allows the posting of child sex abuse images, drug trafficking and fraud.
