India on Sunday signed a trade and economic partnership agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) — a grouping of Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland — that includes a binding $100-billion investment commitment. As part of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), EFTA has committed to promote investments to increase the stock of foreign direct investments (FDI) in India by $100 billion in the next 15 years, and to facilitate the generation of one million direct employment in India through such investments, the government said in a statement. «The global leadership of EFTA countries in innovation and R&D across diverse spheres...will open up new doors of collaboration,» PM Narendra Modi said about the trade agreement.

We are investing Rs.1000 crore on this expansion,» Rana said. The Baroda plant will manufacture small kitchen appliances, metal cookware, and drinkware. India and four-nation European bloc EFTA on Sunday signed a free trade agreement to help promote investments and exports of key domestic services sectors such as IT, audio-visual, and movement of skilled professionals. The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) members are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. Union Minister Piyush Goyal, quoting PM Narendra Modi, said, «Despite structural diversities in many aspects, our economies possess complementarities that promise to be a win-win situation for all nations. With the opening up of enormous trading and investment opportunities, we have reached a new level of trust and ambition. The trade agreement symbolizes our shared agreement to open fair, equitable trade, as well as generate growth and employment for the youth.»

US Consulate in Mumbai organized a special 'Super Saturday' drive on March 9, screening 1,500 visa applicants. ONGC's newly explored crude oil from KG basin deep-sea block was received at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) on Saturday, the refinery said in a statement. The new crude oil from Krishna Godavari basin block KG-DWN-98/2 was brought to Mangalore by a ship named Swarna Sindhu, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 2. «This sweet (low sulphur) indigenous crude is poised to be transformed into various fuels and petrochemicals at MRPL, Mangalore, contributing impactfully to the Athmanirbhar Bharath mission of the Government of India,» it said. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) KG block KG-DWN-98/2, which started oil production in January, lies in Andhra offshore.
