The hashrate of memecoin Dogecoin [DOGE] clinched a seven-month-high of 661.28 TH/s, data from CoinWarz revealed. This surge appeared during the intraday trading session on 18 October. 

Bitcoin held the $19,000 mark during the session. An expected 75 basis point interest rate increase at next month's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting and continued US central bank hawkishness through the end of the year seems already entrenched in investors. Majority of the crypto tokens were trading higher on Monday, but the upside was capped. Avalanche gained about 2 per cent and Ethereum rose more than a per cent. XRP plunged about 4 per cent and memecoins dropped too. The global cryptocurrency market cap was trading flat at $919.83 billion, marginally higher in the last 24 hours. However, the total trading volume jumped more than 16 per cent to $76.2 billion.

Investors looking for a Bitcoin (BTC) news update have been disappointed this week as the Bitcoin (BTC) price has been dropping.

Crypto market continued its mixed trends on Thursday ahead of US inflation data following the hawkish commentary from the US fed in its last FOMC meeting. Bitcoin and other cryptos have remained range bound lately. Bitcoin held above the $19,000 mark, whereas Ethereum remained below $1,300-levels. Trading volume has remained tepid, falling regularly below 20-day averages, which suggest the lack of conviction among the investors. Barring Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and Tron, all top crypto tokens were trading lower on Thursday. Cardano plunged about 5 per cent, whereas XRP, Dogecoin and Polygon dropped 3 per cent each. Shiba Inu and Avalanche shed 2 per cent each. The global cryptocurrency market cap was trading flat at $915.55 billion, dropping maringally in the last 24 hours. However, the total trading volume jumped almost 20 per cent to $58.48 billion.
