Dogecoin and Elon Musk have had a long relationship. It seems Dogecoin’s price is directly proportional to Musk’s bullish tweet about the meme coin. Not to forget that the billionaire’s tweets of late have been failing to produce a strong impact on Dogecoin.

The put-to-call ratio on the coin hit a 12-month high at 0.72, meaning that many traders are loading up on hedges in the event it embarks on another leg lower and its losses deepen. The ratio hit a high of 0.96 April last year before prices plunged roughly 50% the following month, according to option Skew data compiled by Babel Finance. It «signals cynicism in the markets with rising bearish sentiment,» said Josh Olszewicz, head of research at Valkyrie Investments. «Given the macro situation globally, and the near uniform risk-off trade currently dominating most asset classes, traders have followed suit with their Bitcoin strategies.»

The global crypto market cap remained unchanged at $1.28 trillion early on May 15, while the total crypto market volume dropped 25.97 percent to $87.53 billion over the last 24 hours.

Top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum advanced slightly on May 14 as the market recovered from previous losses.

Most of the market is still recovering from the events of 9 May, which left the crypto space broken beyond belief. Marking the highest single-day losses for every cryptocurrency, the bears did not spare even the most popular/in-demand tokens, including the king of meme coins, Dogecoin.
