Bitcoin (BTC) has sealed its worst August performance since 2015 after the monthly candle closed down 13.9%.

Profit at the European arm of fund management giant Vanguard dropped by a third last year, as the business incurred higher expenses and personnel costs after adding almost 200 people to its books.

Bitcoin’s performance has been sluggish of late, thanks to the recent market decline. Last week’s performance of Bitcoin didn’t seem promising as the chart was mostly red.

Barring Avalanche and Polkadot, which posted mild gains, all other top crypto tokens were trading lower on Wednesday. Solana dropped 3 per cent, whereas Dogecoin and Polygon shed 2 per cent each. The global cryptocurrency market cap was trading marginally lower at $1.02 trillion mark, dropping less than a per cent in the last 24 hours.
