Investing.com — U.S. futures rose Wednesday, rebounding after the previous session's losses with investors digesting more corporate earnings.

Adani Power Ltd. traded 0.49 per cent down at Rs 278.9 on Wednesday at around 12:38PM (IST), while the benchmark BSE Sensex declined 287.8 points to 65558.7. As many as 497,541 shares changed hands on the counter with a total value of Rs 1390.0 crore.

Hindalco Industries saw its consolidated net profit slump 40% on year to Rs 2,454 crore in the June quarter as weak prices of aluminium and subdued volumes weighed on both its domestic and overseas operations. Revenue of the Aditya Birla group company fell 9% on year to Rs 52,991 crore, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization fell by nearly a third on year to Rs 6,109 crore. On a sequential basis, sales fell by 5%, but operating profit rose by 5%, while the bottom-line was 2% higher. The sequential improvement in performance was driven by a recovery at US-based subsidiary Novelis and the downstream aluminium business in India, and was backed by a steady performance in the copper business, the company said in a statement. “FY24 has started on a promising note. Our focus on expanding our value-added portfolio and operational efficiencies has enabled us to deliver a sustained performance in the face of continued macroeconomic pressures,” Satish Pai, the managing director of the company said in a statement.The company’s consolidated net debt to operating profit ratio rose to 1.73 times at the end of the June quarter as compared to 1.39 times as on March-end.

PB Fintech, the parent of insurance platform Policybazaar and credit marketplace Paisabazaar, fell 4% to Rs 767 in Tuesday's trade after the company reported its June quarter earnings. The firm posted an operating profit and a significantly smaller net loss for the fiscal first quarter. Net loss for the quarter ended June 30 shrank to Rs 11.9 crore from Rs 204.3 crore a year earlier, even as operating revenue rose 32% to Rs 665.58 crore.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone is likely to report a drop in the profit for the quarter ended June, despite a growth in revenue, as the numbers will reflect the integration of the recently acquired Haifa port in Israel. Consolidated net profit is likely to fall 5.5% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1,929 crore, according to the average of estimates given by four brokerages. However, the revenue is set to increase by nearly 22% YoY to Rs 6,156 crore on the back of strong growth in volumes.
