Bengaluru: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd and Infosys, India's top two IT services exporters, have seen the share of Gen Z employees as a percentage of their total headcount plunge to the lowest in five years and a decade, respectively, showed an ET analysis. The share of Gen Z employees — or those aged 30 and under — fell by about 5 percentage points last fiscal at Bengaluru-based Infosys, and by over 2.5 percentage points at Mumbai-based TCS. The trend underscores a tepid IT hiring climate amid industry turbulence, which have impacted onboarding of young talent the most.

Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, has been sent to five days in police custody following allegations of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal. The Delhi Police arrested Kumar on Saturday, and his anticipatory bail plea was subsequently declared “infructuous” by a Delhi court. The police allege that Kumar, Kejriwal’s personal assistant, assaulted Maliwal at the CM's residence on the morning of May 13. Kumar was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal, who granted the police’s request for custody. The police, through their counsel, sought seven days of custody to question Kumar about the assault. They argued that Kumar did not provide his mobile phone password to the investigating agency and claimed that his phone had been formatted in Mumbai due to a malfunction. Police stated, “Before being formatted, the data of a mobile phone has to be cloned, and Kumar was required to be taken to Mumbai for retrieving the data.” They added that his presence was needed when his mobile phone is opened by an expert.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) tied with Mumbai Indians (MI) for most 200-plus run totals in a single Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Saturday. Delhi: Large parts of northwest India broiled in extreme heat for a second consecutive day on Saturday, with temperatures surpassing 45 degrees Celsius in many places. Prime Minister Narendra Modi raked up the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) issue at a BJP rally in North-East Delhi on Saturday when he said those demanding its removal had blocked roads and caused riots in the national capital. IMD Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red alert for ‘severe’ heat in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan over the next five days. Shares of Balkrishna Industries (BKT) surged 5% on the BSE on Saturday to its fresh 52-week high of Rs 2,798.95 after reporting a net profit of Rs 481 crore for the fourth quarter of financial year 2024.
