Lok Sabha polls: Prestige battle for Ajit Pawar as he makes Shirur personal
constituency that Ajit Pawar has taken a keen interest in, it is Shirur. This contest is seen as a personal one for Ajit as the Sharad Pawar faction of NCP has repeated its MP Amol Kolhe against Ajit's NCP candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil. Kolhe, an actor famous for the role of Maratha warrior King Shivaji in tele serials, was present at Raj Bhavan when Ajit rebelled and took oath along with 8 NCP MLAs to join hands with BJP government. Kolhe, however, changed sides within two days which was taken as a personal insult by Ajit. The latter has since then publicly vowed to ensure that Kolhe will be defeated. The Ajit faction has given a ticket to Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, a former three term MP from Shiv Sena, defeated in 2019 by Kolhe.

BJP's Murlidhar Mohol vs Congress' Ravindra Dhangekar: No simple choices for Pune voters
BJP and Congress in the upcoming election on Pune Lok Sabha seat, which was once the stronghold of the BJP over the past two Lok Sabha elections. However, a strange quirk of fate has altered the political equations here. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP won five of the six assembly seats of the Pune Parliamentary constituency. It all looked like a cakewalk for the party. However, two incidents in March 2023 changed the dynamics of the constituency. Pune's MP and senior BJP leader Girish Bapat died after a prolonged illness. Before becoming an MP in 2019, Bapat was the MLA from Kasba Peth constituency, a BJP stronghold which the party didn't lose since 1995.

Aman only male Indian wrestler in Paris Olympics as Jaideep, Sujeet bow out of Qualifiers
Sujeet Kalkal and Jaideep Ahlawat resisted their respective rivals well at the World Qualifiers on Sunday but could not add more quotas to India's kitty for the Paris Olympic Games, where the country will have only one male wrestler in Aman presenting his challenge. In his crucial 65kg bronze medal contest, Sujeet matched USA's Zain Allen Retherford in terms of skills but conceded a takedown on counter attack to lose 2-2 on criteria. It was Sujeet who got on board first with a tremendous counter-attack move. He was about to concede points on takedown but surprised the American with his quick counter and led the bout for considerable period. Looking for another take-down, he went after Retherford but it was now turn of the American to pull off a counter move as he got the take-down near the end of circle.

Streaming was supposed to rescue the ailing TV ad business. It hasn’t.
When Mondelez sought to promote a limited edition of its Oreo cookie earlier this year, it did something that would have been unthinkable not that long ago: It didn’t spend a dime advertising on TV. The snack company had a simple reason for that decision. The people it was looking to reach—Gen Z members, multicultural audiences and households with children—aren’t watching enough television.

PM Modi still lying about Sandeshkhali, but mum on molestation allegation against Governor Bose: Mamata Banerjee
PM Narendra Modi was continuing to «peddle lies» about Sandeshkhali, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday questioned why he was maintaining a stoic silence on the allegations of molestation against Governor CV Ananda Bose and not asking him to resign. Addressing an election rally in North 24 Parganas' Amdanga, which is a part of the Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency, Banerjee said the PM should be ashamed that "BJP's conspiracy" about Sandeshkhali has become public. «The PM is still peddling lies about Sandeshkhali. He should be ashamed as the BJP's conspiracy has now become public,» Banerjee said, apparently referring to a purported video in which a local BJP leader was heard saying that over 70 women had received Rs 2,000 each for taking part in protests against TMC strongman Shahjahan Sheikh who is accused of sexual assault and land grab. In an earlier clip, a man resembling BJP's Sandeshkhali mandal president Gangadhar Kayal was heard saying that the «staged» protests were done at the behest of Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari who was behind the «whole conspiracy».
