"PDP has joined BJP as its 'C' team": NC leader Omar Abdullah
Omar Abdullah claimed that Mehbooba Mufti-led People's Democratic Party (PDP) has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as its 'C team'. Abdullah's statement comes after BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari notably urged members of the Pahari community to vote for Mehbooba Mufti in the ongoing Lok Sabha election. Referring to this, the NC leader said, «If we have to defeat the BJP here, and the powers spreading poison in the whole country, then people should look at INDIA alliance leaders on all five seats of J-K. All others are connected to the BJP in some way. Be it the 'A' or 'B' team that meets Tarun Chugh sahib or PDP. I am assuming that now Mehbooba Mufti will put pressure on the BJP to get Mushtaq Bukhari's statement changed. PDP has joined BJP as its 'C' team.»

Baltimore port to open deeper channel, enabling some cargo ships to pass after bridge collapse
collapsed last month. The new channel will be 35 feet (12 meters) deep, which is a substantial increase over the three other temporary channels established in recent weeks. It puts the cleanup effort slightly ahead of schedule, as officials previously said they hoped to open a channel of that depth by the end of April.

Siddaramaiah working overtime as win on home turf will help tighten his grip over party
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is pushing himself hard to wrest the neighbouring Lok Sabha constituencies of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar (SC) from BJP as he probably sees the outcome as a vote on his own performance. A win would help him cement his position in Congress and the government. In both constituencies, NDA and Congress candidates are fresh faces. In Mysuru, a seat Congress last won in 2009, the entry of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the royal family, as BJP candidate has made the contest a tight one for Congress. By picking Wadiyar, BJP has tried to nullify anti-incumbency as sitting MP Pratap Simha has completed two terms. Mysureans have always seen members of the royal family beyond the narrow lens of caste. Congress has fielded M Lakshman, a Vokkaliga, going for the community after 47 years. The community voters are dominant in Mysuru district, and the CM is betting on these votes, besides its traditional votes from the Kuruba (OBC) and minority communities. The absence of SDPI and BSP candidates, according to local political analyst Kudli Gururaj, might help Congress get some extra votes.

Tripura: Row over BJP minister's Rs 2 lakh reward offer for polling stations
Tripura Minister and BJP leader Ratan Lal Nath announcing Rs 2 lakh reward for the polling stations in five Assembly constituencies which would record the highest percentage of votes in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Opposition CPI-M and the Congress on Tuesday urged the Election Commission to take appropriate action against Tripura Minister. Opposition leader and CPI-M Tripura state Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury in a letter to Chief Election Commissioner (Rajiv Kumar) alleged that the minister's announcement of reward is an “open provocation of false voting”. State Congress President Asish Kumar Saha in his letter to the CEC urged to take immediate and decisive action to rectify these alarming developments.

Karnataka witnessing wave in favour of Congress govt's guarantee schemes, says CM Siddaramaiah
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said there is no Modi wave in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections but there is one in favour of the Congress party's guarantee schemes in the state. Addressing a poll rally here, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had failed to fulfill any of his promises such as bringing back black money from abroad, creating two crore jobs every year and doubling farm income. «There is no Modi wave in the state because of his lies. People have realised his lies. Hence in the entire country, the Modi wave is not there. If there is any wave it's only our Guarantee wave,» Siddaramaiah said, as he referred to the five guarantee schemes launched by his government. He claimed that during his previous stint as chief minister from 2013 to 2018, he managed to fulfill 158 out of 165 promises, and also started 130 new programmes during the period. The BJP, which governed the state from 2019 to 2023, could not keep up any of its promises, the chief minister alleged at the public meeting, which was also addressed by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Chinese villagers jumped at the deal of a lifetime—then it turned sour
It seemed to be a great deal at the time: Swap an aging townhouse and a small piece of farmland for five apartments and two stores. Bella Zhao’s family grabbed that offer in 2009, when property developers led by Wanda Group moved into their sparse, snow-capped village in China’s northeastern Jilin province. Wanda planned to spend $2.8 billion to turn the area into a high-end resort replete with ski slopes, golf courses, hunting spots and five-star hotels.

Trend of IT services companies not hiring or reducing headcount will continue for now: Rituparna Chakraborty, TeamLease
Rituparna Chakraborty, Co-Founder, TeamLease, says “artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, will get into every aspect of our lives and the way we do things even in our workplaces. But having said that, it does not mean that all jobs are going away. It is a call to action for all of us that the kind of skill sets that we are empowering our youth with, definitely needs to be changed, which means there will be demand for higher skill sets. So, the skill sets with which kids are able to find jobs, is not how it is going to be for our youth for the next five years or the decades that we will see. The sooner we prepare ourselves for this inevitable outcome, the better it is.” What is the story? I have always seen that a sector like IT only hires, hires, hires, and hires. Now they are not hiring. Rituparna Chakraborty: We have gotten so used to the technology sector being a net employment generator for the economy that on the face of it, it seems disappointing and shocking to some extent.
