KKR close to buying cancer chain HCG
Healthcare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG), the country’s largest speciality cancer care hospital chain, from another private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, said people aware of the matter. The development comes less than six months after KKR made a return to the Indian hospital sector, after a gap of two years The private equity firms are aiming to sign binding documents this month, latest early January. Trumping a rival bid by Bain Capital, KKR entered into an exclusivity pact in late October with CVC for bilateral negotiations to acquire CVC’s 60.36% stake at a price of Rs 425-450 per share. Aim of health coverage to all above 70 is to address challenges faced by them, Rajya Sabha told
Ayushman Bharat scheme is to address the distinct challenges faced by senior citizens and to reduce the economic vulnerabilities of this group, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday. Responding to a question, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said that on October 29, 2024, the government expanded Ayushman Bharat — Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to provide free treatment benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh per year to all aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their socio-economic status. «The aim of this expansion is to address the distinct challenges faced by senior citizens, including limited access to affordable healthcare and a significant disease burden. Many elderly individuals suffer from chronic illnesses and disabilities, highlighting the urgent need for targeted healthcare interventions,» he said. The initiative also strives to reduce the economic vulnerabilities of this group, as a substantial portion is no longer employed, leading to high dependency on others, Nadda said.

Expect double-digit returns in 2-3 years, Nifty target for Dec 2025 at 26,100: Axis Securities
Nifty 50 index has risen over 1% in the last two trading sessions, with brokerage firm Axis Securities projecting the index to hit 26,100 by December 2025, marking an 8% upside from the current levels. The brokerage said it continues to believe in India’s long-term growth story, “driven by the country’s favourable structure, thanks to the increasing capex which is enabling banks to improve credit growth. This will ensure that Indian equities will easily manage to deliver double-digit returns in the next 2-3 years, supported by double-digit earnings growth.”

Health dept told to include AB-PMJAY benefits with Delhi govt's free healthcare service: CM Atishi
Atishi on Thursday said the Health Department has been directed to devise a mechanism to incorporate the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme without withdrawing the benefits of the Delhi government's free healthcare facilities for the people. In a press conference, she said the Delhi government has been in principle ready to implement the Centre's Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. But there are some contradictions and problems in implementation, the CM said. The Delhi high court on Wednesday sought the stand of the AAP government on a plea by seven BJP MPs from the national capital, seeking implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Atishi said the problems in the implementation of AB-PMJAY arise because the Delhi government is already providing comprehensive free medical facilities in its hospitals.
