Odyssean IT bets on surge in M&A among UK equities
The trust, managed by Odyssean Capital, invests in a concentrated portfolio of companies typically too small for inclusion in the FTSE 250, avoiding companies where M&A is «less likely» and businesses that are «unlikely to be coveted by alternative owners to public market investors». Joe Biden, Donald Trump asked to intervene as Indian-American body warns of Bangladesh becoming ‘Islamic state’
Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), an Indian-American organisation, has urged US leaders to address the rising violence against minorities in Bangladesh. In letters sent separately to President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, FIIDS raised concerns about the safety of minorities, particularly Hindus, in the country. Khanderao Kand, FIIDS President, in his letter to Donald Trump, wrote, «Bangladesh is rapidly descending into a radicalised Islamic state, all under the watch of the US, the State Department, and the UN who must act now to restore democracy and protect minorities. I request not only President Biden but would urge President Trump and his transition team to give priority to restoration of peace and protect minorities in Bangladesh.» In another letter addressed to President Biden, Kand emphasised the importance of protecting vulnerable populations for Bangladesh's democratic progress. He stated, «Bangladesh's progress as a democratic and inclusive society depends on safeguarding the rights of all its citizens, including its most vulnerable populations. We trust that your leadership will champion these values and help restore hope for those who continue to face oppression and displacement.»

Narayana Murthy wants IAS, IPS officers from B-schools instead of UPSC; 'No, thanks', rebuts top bureaucrat
Infosys, has drawn significant criticism after suggesting that India’s civil services could benefit from recruiting officers directly from business schools instead of relying solely on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Speaking at the CNBC-TV18 Global Leadership Summit on November 14, Murthy argued that India's bureaucracy should shift from an «administrative mindset» to a «management mindset.» According to Murthy, the current system of governance, which is based on the UPSC examination process, produces civil servants who are trained to maintain the status quo rather than to bring about innovation, vision, and rapid execution.

Cybersecurity roles are rising but women participating is low
cybersecurity professionals. However, the talent pool doesn’t seem that diverse in this sector. It is important to understand what kind of roles are in demand for women, the skills they must acquire and the challenges they face when trying to build a career in cybersecurity. Women continue to be significantly underrepresented in the cybersecurity sector, holding only 20-25% of roles at present, says Bhavesh Goswami, Founder and CEO of CloudThat. While this number is projected to reach 30% by 2025, he says achieving true gender parity is still a distant goal; and it’s likely that we’ll reach a 50% representation only by 2030. Pankit Desai, CEO & Co-Founder at Sequretek, says the representation of women in cybersecurity has seen significant growth from the single digits seen a few years ago, reflecting the industry's gradual progress toward greater diversity. About 23-24% of Sequretek’s workforce is made up of women. However, he says the challenge is in leadership roles, where female representation continues to stay in the single digits, indicating the need to foster a truly inclusive environment in cybersecurity.
