Noida experienced an unexpected and harrowing ordeal during what was supposed to be a routine cab ride. Boarding the cab near Delhi's Anand Vihar railway station, the young man found himself in the hands of a seemingly friendly and educated driver who turned out to be the mastermind of a drug-and-rob gang from Ghaziabad's Khoda colony. The incident, which occurred on February 17, came to light when the victim filed a complaint on February 20. According to the victim's account, he had initially planned to take a train to Kanpur but, unable to secure a reserved ticket, decided to return home to Ghaziabad. Seeking a taxi outside the station, the victim was approached by the articulate and amicable cab driver who offered a ride at a considerably lower fare than the app-based cabs. During the journey, the passenger, feeling thirsty, accepted a water bottle from the driver as a goodwill gesture. However, after consuming the water, he fell into a deep sleep, only to wake up 12 hours later on the roadside. To his dismay, he discovered that his iPhone, wallet, cash amounting to Rs 16,000, and valuable items like gold and rings were missing.

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Wednesday said that 219 persons lost their lives and displaced more than 60,000 people due to the violence. Punjab news: Bunty Bains, a Punjabi lyricist and close friend of the late singer Sidhu Moosewala, escaped unharmed on 27 February when bullets were allegedly fired at him by unidentified individuals in Mohali, police said as reported by news agency ANI. Calcutta High Court on Wednesday directed that Trinamool Congress leader Shajahan Sheikh, the main accused in sexual atrocities on women and land grabbing at Sandeshkhali, can be arrested by the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) or the West Bengal Police. corporate affairs ministry is probing various Chinese companies, especially those with links to loan apps, for alleged violations and some of the investigations are at an advanced stage, according to a senior official. In recent times, Indian authorities have been cracking down on entities that are operating loan apps illegally and the ministry has also been acting against companies and related individuals for hiding beneficial ownership. The senior official told PTI that enquiries by the ministry are going on against various Chinese companies, especially those linked to loan apps, and some of the enquiries are at an advanced stage.
