Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given a clean chit to INSCO (Independent Sugar Corporation), a Madhvani Group company based in Africa, for green channel approval for the proposed acquisition of Hindustan National Glass (HNGIL). The Commission had initiated an investigation following a complaint filed by AGI Greenpac. INSCO and AGI Greenpac had submitted bids to acquire HNGIL, India's largest glass company. INSCO emerged as the single eligible bidder and AGI's plan received the vote from COC led by SBI. Following the rejection, AGI Greenpac filed a complaint with the CCI challenging the green channel approval granted to INSCO, alleging that INSCO has business interests in India. AGI alleged that INSCO had applied under the green channel, but it has a business in India.

In a letter addressed to Jharkhand's chief secretary L Khiyante, Sinha stated that he was stepping down from his position effective immediately. The examination, administered by an outsourcing agency under the auspices of JSSC, took place on February 28. A Times of India report, citing sources close to Sinha, said that Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission chairperson had been contemplating resignation for some time, although he clarified that his decision was unrelated to the question paper leak. It is noteworthy that a special investigation team has been established by the police to look into the matter. Thus far, three individuals, including Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha under secretary Mohammad Shamim and his two sons, have been apprehended in connection with the case.

The LOC 'on intimation' results in immigration authorities informing a probe agency about the individual going overseas but the person is not stopped from leaving the country.
