Adani unveils South Asia's largest defence complex in Kanpur, to add 4,000 jobs
Yogi Adityanath on Monday inaugurated the Adani Ammunition Complex and Missiles Complex in Kanpur, the first leg of the state’s defence corridor. The South Asia’s largest manufacturing complex has been dedicated to the brave warriors of the Balakot strike who carried out 'Operation Bandar' in response to the Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers. The two units are being projected as a symbol of India's journey towards self-reliance and technological prowess in the defence sector.

India chip strategy makes progress with $21 billion in proposals
chips race, now has to evaluate $21 billion of semiconductor proposals and divvy up taxpayer support between foreign chipmakers, local champions or some combination of the two. Israel’s Tower Semiconductor Ltd. is proposing a $9 billion plant, while India’s Tata Group has put forward an $8 billion chip fabrication unit, people familiar matter said. Both projects would be in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat, the people said, declining to be named as the matter is not public. Semiconductors have grown into a key geopolitical battleground, with the US, Japan and China investing heavily in developing domestic capabilities. Modi’s push to turn India into a global manufacturing hub also includes luring international chipmakers to the country — a bid to catch up in the sector to save money on expensive imports and enhance a growing smartphone assembly industry.

BrahMos missile now our primary weapon: Navy Chief after Rs 19,000 crore deal cleared by Center
Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar has declared that the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile will become the primary weapon of the Indian Navy, supplanting older missile systems acquired from other countries. In an interview with ANI, Admiral Kumar stated, «BrahMos will be our primary weapon now as the surface-to-surface missile weapon.» He also indicated that the Indian Air Force and its fighter aircraft might adopt BrahMos as their primary air-to-surface weapon. He praised BrahMos for its evolution in range, capabilities, and lethality, emphasizing that the missile is «a very potent missile.» Admiral Kumar highlighted the advantage of BrahMos being manufactured in India. He noted, «It is made in India, so we are not dependent on anybody else. It can be repaired, and spares are available.» This self-reliance, he added, is a significant advantage for the Indian Navy.

Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ola Electric—have already cleared the eligibility criteria for the incentives for multiple products, the certifications for auto parts makers were significantly delayed given a complex process involving auditor certifications for domestic value addition (DVA) at the component makers’ tier-II and tier-III vendors. With the advanced auto parts makers receiving certification confirming they meet the stringent 50% DVA criteria laid down under the scheme, the decks have now been cleared for the government’s move to finally start disbursements under the scheme, which it has said will begin in fiscal year 2025.
