Why real estate industry needs to look inwards into its business processes
As Helmut Maucher, former chairman of Nestle, said in his book Leadership in Action, “It is imperative that the actual situation of a company, its products, and its mode of operating, correspond to the information being disseminated.” This is the most profound learning that continues to guide the business leadership; aligning marketing communication with the brand’s essence and the brand experience. India bond yields rise after debt auction, end week lower
bond yields ended marginally higher on Friday as debt auction added to overall supply, while market participants shrugged off domestic growth numbers, which came largely in line with expectations. The benchmark 7.26% 2033 bond yield ended at 7.1671%, after closing the previous session at 7.1655%. The yield, however, ended the week 3 basis points lower. New Delhi raised 390 billion rupees ($4.72 billion) through the sale of bonds, at cutoffs that nearly met estimates. However, some mutual funds were selling longer-duration papers after the auction results, traders said. «The 10-year bond yield should peak in September as demand-supply dynamics are expected to improve from October.

Track laying work for Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train starts in Surat
Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor has commenced in Surat. What makes this project particularly noteworthy is the use of the Japanese Shinkansen-inspired J-slab ballastless track system on Indian soil for the very first time. As per a TOI report, the track system itself consists of a pre-cast track slab upon which fastening devices and rails are securely affixed. This slab is supported by a reinforced concrete (RC) track bed, boasting a substantial thickness of approximately 300mm.

Market Wrap: Sensex, Nifty end higher on all-round buying; investors richer by nearly ₹3 lakh crore in a day
Nifty ended with healthy gains on Friday, boosted by all-around buying in light of broadly positive global cues ahead of the release of the US jobs data amid hopes that the Federal Reserve will not raise rates in September. Easing US Treasury yields and the dollar also influenced the mood of the equity market. “Falls in US Treasury yields this week weighed on the dollar, which was on track to snap a six-week winning run ahead of the pivotal US non-farm payrolls figures, due before the opening bell on Wall Street," reported Reuters.

MEA introduces changes in passport delivery, visa and consular services
ministry of external affairs (MEA) has introduced 'significant' changes in the delivery of passports, visas and consular services in its move to mitigate predatory pricing, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) said in a statement. The industry body also said the ministry's move tightens rules for selection of partners visas and consular services to the Indian diaspora and foreign visitors. The Indian missions of the MEA are the first touch points for any international traveller coming into India — the Indian Citizen or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and foreigners (traveling to India) residing overseas. «The ministry of external affairs (MEA) has embarked on a transformational programme to reform and strengthen its tendering and evaluation process in a holistic manner to select the right outsourced service providers,» said TAAI president Jyoti Mayal. «While the focus lies on L1 pricing, there is a strong emphasis on the four pillars of quality services, sustainable and viable price, data protection and security, and ethical practices and integrity,» she added. She said it is important that the first impression of any individual travelling to India or having to work with any Indian Mission anywhere in the world needs to be 'impeccable' as the government is determined to work towards delivering the promise of new India. «Therefore, the MEA and its missions as true representatives of the Indian government to the world must focus on offering superior, efficient, and cost-effective services as perhaps the first step in that direction,» she added. The president concluded by stating that India is positioning itself as a global leader in several sectors such as trade, cross border services and citizen services. «As India

However, Suresh Narayanan, the chairman and managing director of Nestlé India, said consumer demand at the moment remains “stable and robust". “Now, it is seeming reasonably clear with the deficit of monsoons, already reported at 30%, even if kharif sowing is good, kharif productivity might get impacted.
