Hero MotoCorp: India’s largest two-wheeler maker’s profits zipped into high-growth territory in the December quarter. Hero MotoCorp saw a 51% year-on-year jump in its net profit at ₹1,073 crore in the third quarter, mirroring the lift in profits and volumes seen by listed peers Bajaj Auto & TVS Motor Company. The company also reported a 21% increase in revenue from operations to ₹9,723.73 crore in Q3FY24, versus ₹8,030.98 crore in Q3FY23.

North Korea has successfully developed a new ballistic control system for a multiple rocket launcher along with controllable shells, state media KCNA reported on Monday. The Academy of Defence Science, which oversees the country's missile development, conducted a «ballistic control» test firing of 240-mm calibre controllable multiple rocket launcher shells on Sunday, KCNA said. KCNA said the strategic value of the 240 mm-caliber multiple rocket launcher will be «reevaluated» its role in battlefields will also increase due to what it called «rapid technical improvement.»

Walt Disney Co and Reliance Industries (RIL) are in the last leg of negotiations to finalise their mega stock-and-cash merger to create India’s largest media and entertainment business, said people in the know. Under the terms of the talks, Viacom18 looks set to be the single largest shareholder, with 42-45% in the combined entity, they said. Parent RIL is expected to invest up to $1.5 billion cash in the new entity and pick up a stake directly as well. DesignCafe is in the process of merging with its bigger rival HomeLane in a stock-swap deal, multiple people aware of the development told ET. The deal will value DesignCafe at about Rs 500 crore, or about $60 million, and HomeLane at $360 million, or about 3,000 crore, one of the sources said.

NEW DELHI : The final report on farm laws by a government-appointed committee will only be ready in a few months, said a member of the panel, as farmers geared up for a protest this week to press long-standing demands over MSP and other farm-related issues. The member who did not wish to be named said the committee that was constituted two years ago to address farmers’ grievances, including on minimum support prices (MSP), is trying to forge a consensus at the earliest. Because of the delay, farmers from Punjab and Haryana are planning to march to Delhi on Tuesday.

Billy Jack Haynes has been taken into custody following accusations of fatally shooting his wife Janette Becraft, as per a report in New York Post. The incident reportedly took place at Haynes' residence in Oregon last Thursday.
