Sagar’s body was discovered on Monday morning near Adalakhia village in the Izzatnagar area, two days after he went to play cricket with his 20-year-old friend, Anuj Singh Chaudhary. A Class 8 student, Sagar had been living with his maternal uncle, Rajesh Kumar Gangwar, in Bareilly, while his mother resides in Mumbai. Police have detained Chaudhary and another youth, Sunny (19), both college students, for questioning. While Sapna alleged her son’s body showed severe injuries, including a slit throat and broken limbs, authorities refuted these claims, citing the autopsy report. According to SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya, “The exact cause of death is undetermined. There are no traces of poisoning, but we suspect excessive alcohol consumption and a possible drug overdose. The report will be sent to the state forensic department for further analysis. Regarding injury claims, there were no wounds except for drag marks on the body.
