Manappuram Finance Q4 Results: Profit beats Street estimates on healthy loan growth
Manappuram Finance reported a better-than-expected fourth-quarter profit on Friday, helped by strong loan growth at both its gold and non-gold segments. The company's consolidated net profit attributable to owners of parent rose about 36% to 5.62 billion rupees ($67.7 million) for the three months ended March 31, above analysts' expectations of 5.59 billion rupees, according to LSEG data.

Torrent Pharma Q4 Results: Net profit jumps 56% YoY to Rs 449 crore
Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Friday reported a 56.45 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 449 crore in the March quarter, riding on higher revenue. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 287 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, Torrent Pharmaceuticals said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations in the fourth quarter of FY24 stood at Rs 2,745 crore as against Rs 2,491 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

No sign of foul play in Iran president's deadly helicopter crash, early report says
Iran's military said no evidence of foul play or attack had been found so far during investigations into the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi, state media reported on Friday. Raisi, a hardliner who had been seen as a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed when his helicopter came down in poor weather in mountains near the Azerbaijan border on Monday.

Bosch Q4 Results: Net profit rises on higher demand
automotive supplier Robert Bosch GmbH, reported a 41.5% climb in fourth-quarter profit on Friday, helped by better demand for its automotive products and consumer goods. Net profit rose to 5.65 billion rupees ($67.99 million) in the quarter ended March 31 from 3.99 billion rupees a year earlier for the company, which makes auto parts and accessories for cars, two wheelers and railways among others.

Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd on Friday posted a 21 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 319 crore for the March quarter. The mortagage firm had reported a net profit of Rs 263 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue from operations rose to Rs 2,205 crore for the March quarter as compared to Rs 2,075 crore in the year-ago period, Indiabulls Housing Finance said in a regulatory filing.

UK retail sales fall 2.3% in 'dull and wet' April
According to data from the Office for National Statistics published today (24 May), there was a significant contraction compared to March, when retail sales fell by 0.2%. April saw sharp declines in household goods and non-food store sales, which dropped by 5.4% and 5.1%, respectively, while food store sales registered a more moderate decline of 0.8%. The drop in retail sales followed a «dull and wet month» that discouraged shoppers from making in-store purchases, the ONS said. Hindalco posts 32% jump in Q4 profit on strong margin, volumes
Hindalco Industries, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla group, on Friday reported a 32% year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹3,174 crore for the quarter ended March driven by strong margins and volumes across aluminium and copper businesses. The company's revenue from operations for the quarter was flat year-on-year at ₹55,994 crore.Hindalco's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization or Ebitda stood at ₹7,201 crore for Q4FY24, up 24%, driven by lower input costs and higher volumes.The demand for copper and aluminium going ahead remains very strong in India, said Satish Pai, managing director, Hindalco Industries."I think that we can get to the monsoon where we don't have supply disruptions, so, our cost of production is under control and if the commodity prices remain favorable, we should have another good year," Pai said in a statement.Consolidated net debt to Ebitda stood at 1.21 times as of 31 March 2024 against 1.39 times in the corresponding period a year ago.

₹254 crore in the March quarter, mainly due to certain exceptional items.The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹320 crore in the year-ago period, a BSE filing said.Total income rose to ₹2,207.43 crore in the quarter from ₹1,699.96 crore in the same period a year ago.The consolidated net profit in the 2023-24 fiscal year also declined to ₹660 crore from ₹2,887 crore a year earlier.Total income in the fiscal rose to ₹6,567.51 crore from ₹5,990.16 crore a year ago.The company explained that PAT (profit after tax or net profit before exceptional items) for the March quarter increased 411 per cent to ₹281 crore on a year-on-year basis.The cumulative orders as on May 24, 2024 are 3.3 GW.
