Will tyre stocks see a good ride of momentum going ahead? Pramod Amthe answers
«I doubt there will be any major changes, except for the saying that there has been challenges for FD immobilisation, which may need a tinkering, but may not be a drastic change in taxes. But if there are any of those things which you are talking about, then there can be a negative repercussions for the market,» says Pramod Amthe, InCred Capital. What is your take on the markets in run-up to the budget because we have seen most of these counters or sectors actually be abuzz in anticipation of what is likely expected in the budget. What is your view? Pramod Amthe: In terms of budget expectations, clearly what we are looking forward is some amount of relief to come through for the middle class and also looking at the election side relief for rural segment or the rural markets either in the form of looking at some direction for MSP or to that extent relief on exports of agri commodities so that should also give us some hints about sustaining the rural recovery which has seen initial signs of turnaround in the March and June quarter. So, those are the factors which we would look forward to for the budget expectations.

This is in response to the second tender for the project, the first having been scrapped amid accusations of preferential treatment. One of the two bidders, GH4India, is a joint venture owned equally by IOC, ReNew and engineering major Larsen & Toubro. GH4India was formed in FY23 for development of green hydrogen and its derivatives, including green ammonia and methanol, besides production and associated renewable assets. Repeat of Last Year

Eutelsat OneWeb, Jio seek provisional satellite spectrum to be future-ready
Eutelsat OneWeb and Reliance Jio are believed to have called on communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to consider early provisional allocation of satellite spectrum for around six months so that companies that have the requisite permissions can quickly launch broadband-from-space services commercially in India. Companies need a GMPCS (global mobile personal communications by satellite services) license and necessary regulatory approvals from Indian National Space Promotion & Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) before launching commercial satcom services in India, a nascent market but with a lot of potential, say experts. The issue came up during a meeting with key industry stakeholders of the satcoms ecosystem that was chaired by Scindia on Monday, two people aware of the matter said.

Football is soulful
spiritual point of view, football is extremely meaningful, soulful and fruitful. Each sincere seeker should pray to the Supreme to make him His football. When we kick a football, the football is at our mercy. The football is the instrument. We kick right, left, forward and backward, and play with it according to our sweet will. Now, look at this football. It is far better than we are. The football does not quarrel with us; it does not fight us. At times, the football, as an instrument, can fail us; the air can leak out… All kinds of problems can come up. But the main wish of the football is to please the football player. We should consider ourselves to be footballs of the Supreme. The earthly football, the leather football is under compulsion to please its master. The football that we kick is under our control, at our mercy. It has become our instrument, and it is pleasing us, although it may not be pleasing us cheerfully. But we should be conscious footballs always trying to please the Supreme cheerfully so that the Supreme can at any moment kick us, shape us, mould us, form us in His own way.

Trump's vice presidential choice takes on an additional significance in shooting's aftermath
Donald Trump, having just survived an attempted assassination, enters the Republican National Convention having not yet announced his vice presidential pick — but he said he'd make that choice on Monday. It remains unclear whether the shooting Saturday at his Pennsylvania rally has changed the former president's thinking about his potential second-in-command. He told Fox News Channel host Bret Baier in a call that he planned to make his pick on Monday. After the shooting, Trump's choice carries considerably more gravity. If a bullet had struck just a little bit to the right, Trump likely would have been killed or seriously injured. The close call puts in stark relief the significance of a position that is a heartbeat away from the presidency. Trump has repeatedly claimed that choosing someone who was qualified to take over as commander in chief was his top consideration for the role.

In prime-time address, Biden warns of election-year rhetoric, saying 'it's time to cool it down'
President Joe Biden warned Sunday of the risks of political violence in the U.S. after Saturday's attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, saying, «It's time to cool it down.» In a prime-time national address from the Oval Office, Biden said political passions can run high but «we must never descend into violence.» The president acknowledged the passions of an election year, and that he and Republicans offer different policy visions, but implored Americans to «recommit» to resolving their differences peacefully. «There is no place in America for this kind of violence — for any violence. Ever. Period. No exception. We can't allow this violence to be normalized,» Biden said.

Mint Quick Edit | The attempt on Trump's life stands out
Campaigning to be elected US president again, Donald Trump had a narrow escape on Saturday as a bullet apparently aimed at him grazed his right ear, from which oozing blood was captured on camera as security officers formed a ring around him and whisked him to safety. It’s a relief that the attacker, identified as a 20-year-old local after he was killed by officers, missed his mark, although it’s tragic that an onlooker died and two others were grievously injured. That America has far too many guns around has long been obvious.
