Air India Phuket to Delhi flight: 5 hours journey turns into a 4-day stranding for passengers; AI responds
Phuket to Delhi in five hours has turned into a four-day ordeal for many travellers aboard Air India Flight AI 377. The flight, which was scheduled to depart at 5:50 pm (local time) on November 16, had to be delayed due to technical issues and crew flight duty time restrictions. The Airbus A320 (VT-EDD) was unable to take off on its scheduled time, and after a delay of nearly 24 hours, the flight took off from Phuket at 8:44 pm the next day. However, after about 3.5 hours in the air, the aircraft had to return to Phuket due to a technical snag. As of now, around 30-35 passengers remain stranded in Phuket. In a TOI report, Air India sources confirm that plans are in place to fly these passengers back to Delhi on Wednesday, meaning they will reach their destination four days later than originally expected.

TCIL may sell 15% stake in Bharti Hexacom in two or more tranches
TCIL) is likely to sell its remaining 15% share in Bharti Hexacom in multiple tranches for a windfall income. «The government is considering selling out 15% share in Bharti Hexacom in two or more tranches to maximise the proceeds.Decision not to sell the complete stake in one go previously helped the government to maximise its return by more than 60% over its target value of Rs 9,500-crore. Selling the balance stake in multiple tranches will further enhance value maximization for the government,» a senior Department of Telecommunications (DoT) official told ET. In April this year, the public sector firm sold 15% equity of the total 30% it had in Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti's unit Bharti Hexacom that fetched Rs 4,275-crore to the state exchequer at Rs 570 per share.

Saudi eyes collaboration with Rajasthan on climate challenges
Saudi Arabia's arid climate challenges mirror those faced by regions like Rajasthan, presenting a unique opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing, a Saudi minister official said on Monday. Dr Osama Faqeeha, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and Advisor to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP16 Presidency, made the remarks days ahead of the COP16 meeting to be held in Riyadh from December 2 to 13 under the theme — 'Our Land. Our Future'. «Successful initiatives like the Ghandivan project in Jaipur, which has transformed a barren wasteland into a thriving ecosystem through community-driven efforts, offer valuable insights that can be adapted across different regions,» he said, adding that Saudi Arabia is leveraging water conservation practices and pursuing ambitious rural development programs. «We are focused on raising awareness of the impact of land degradation, drought, and desertification. The scale of our challenge is stark: globally, we lose land equivalent to four football fields every second, amounting to 100 million hectares annually,» Faqeeha said.

Some of the weapons, which include modern Kornet antitank missiles manufactured as recently as 2020, were sent to southern Lebanon in recent years from Russian stockpiles in neighboring Syria, according to Syrian security officials and an Arab official.
