Sunil Jakhar on Friday said a party delegation will approach the Election Commission and seek an ED probe into the state's excise policy, which he claimed was tailored in lines with the one in Delhi. «For the (Delhi) excise policy which Kejriwal had to see this day, the same model has been replicated by their government in Punjab,» Jakhar told reporters here. Kejriwal, AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday night in an excise policy-linked money laundering case in Delhi, triggering massive protests by party workers in the national capital and a few states. Jakhar said a high-powered delegation of BJP will go and meet authorities of the Election Commission on Saturday to demand a ED probe.

It has some presence in a few states such as Goa and Gujarat where it has campaigned on the ground in various previous elections and is trying to strengthen itself in Haryana.

(Reuters) — Foreign investors continued to accumulate Japanese bonds for the third straight week ahead of a pivotal move by the Bank of Japan (BOJ) to exit negative interest rates after 17 years. They pumped in a massive 2.16 trillion yen ($14.26 billion) into long-term Japanese bonds on a net basis last week, the biggest amount in a week since mid-March 2023, data from the Ministry of Finance showed.

Tube Investments of India Ltd. rose 0.79 per cent to Rs 3741.1 in Friday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 3748.0 and low of Rs 3676.45, respectively, during the day. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 4120.8 and low of Rs 2432.0.

West Bengal could also witness a scene similar to the national capital, state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar said on Friday, referring to the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Hitting back, the TMC said that such a statement reflected the «BJP's fear of losing» the Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal, the national convenor of the AAP, was arrested by the ED on Thursday night in an excise policy-linked money laundering case. «Last month, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemmant Soren was arrested. Now, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested. It only shows that being a chief minister doesn't grant you any sort of impunity if you are involved in corruption. Similar allegations of corruption have emerged in West Bengal in recent years. So, the state could also witness similar scenes like New Delhi,» Majumdar said.

IDFC First Bank MD and CEO V Vaidyanathan is at it once again. The banker has gifted 7 lakh shares worth nearly Rs 550 crore of the private sector lender to five people, including an Air Force veteran and a child who lost a parent. Regulatory filings show that Vaidyanathan gifted 50,000 shares of IDFC First Bank to Sameer Mhatre for buying a house, 75,000 shares to Mayank Mrinal Ghosh as «financial Security to kin due to Bereavement of colleague», Rs 2.5 lakh shares to Wg. Cdr. (Rtd.) Sampath Kumar in the form of assistance to a senior citizen.

Marico Ltd. traded 0.31 per cent down in Friday's trade at 12:38PM (IST). Around 8,433 shares changed hands on the counter. The stock opened at Rs 500.85 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 504.0 and Rs 495.0, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Marico Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 595.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 462.95.
