Stock rally: India’s youth bulge could support higher valuations
BSE Sensex rising above 69,653 on Wednesday—is valid. Foreign institutional investors are back in action as buyers; their dithering in 2022 after yield gaps with safe US debt got squeezed now seems like old hat. An enlarged base of retail investors has held indices up, even as India’s economy has recovered from its covid contraction robustly enough to keep up a relatively pacy trajectory.

India’s state-run firms seen extending dream rally on Modi bets
Modi’s expected re-election next year is seen supporting capital expenditure, further boosting their allure. Modi’s government is spending billions of dollars on everything from roads and railways to defense, renewing interest in a sector that has for long been a straggler of India’s $4 trillion stock market. The S&P BSE PSU Index, a gauge that includes some of the nation’s largest power utilities, miners, oil refiners and engineering firms, has surged 44% thus far in 2023. That’s beaten the 14.5% advance in the S&P BSE Sensex Index by the most in two decades, data compiled by Bloomberg show. IMAGE “There is still room for further gains” as valuations are still low compared to non-state players, said Anita Gandhi, strategist at Arihant Capital Markets Ltd.

Emmy-winning TV Legend Norman Lear, creator of 'All in the Family,' passes away at 101
— Producer-writer Norman Lear, whose groundbreaking hit comedies such as 'All in the Family' and 'Maude' addressed race, abortion and other social issues rarely seen before on U.S. television, died on Tuesday, at the age of 101, his family said. Lear, one of the most influential people in television, died at his Los Angeles home of natural causes, «surrounded by his family as we told stories and sang songs until the very end,» the family said on Facebook on Wednesday. Lear, who won six Emmy Awards for his work in television, was known for his campaigning for liberal causes, including voting rights, and worked well into his 90s. In addition to 'All in the Family' and 'Maude,' Lear dominated American TV screens in the 1970s and '80s with the situation comedies 'Sanford and Son,' 'The Jeffersons,' and the soap opera spoof'Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.' At one point in the 1970s, Lear had eight shows on the air with an estimated 120 million viewers, Time magazine said. By drawing material from social themes of the time, Lear's shows made network executives nervous because they had depth and an air of controversy. «For him to say that he didn't have an impact on not only television but society is… a little too humble,» said Rob Reiner, who had a co-starring role on «All in the Family» before becoming a film director. «I loved Norman Lear with all my heart,» Reiner said on the X social media platform after news of his death.

Banks leverage Bharat Billpay for loan and credit card repayments
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to digitise the country’s large utility bill payments market, is now increasingly being used for loan repayments and clearing credit card dues. The way utility bills get generated for consumers every month, EMI (equated monthly installment) gets generated every month on a specific date for borrowers. The customer can use any mode of payment to clear the EMI due, and this is where the BBPS platform is fast emerging as a popular tool.

A timeline of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have managed to keep their relationship under wraps, surprising many Swifties who initially believed they started dating after being spotted together in September. However, in a recent interview with Time magazine, Swift revealed that they had been dating since July when Kelce mentioned her on his podcast, expressing his regret at not meeting her during her Eras Tour gig in Kansas City. A good alternative: Why you should Invest in gold via a structured route
Gold as a hedge: Gold has historically demonstrated its resilience during times of economic uncertainty, often appreciating when other assets falter. Its value tends to hold steady, if not appreciate, during periods of economic uncertainty. The consistent depreciation of the dollar/rupee exchange rate has become a defining characteristic of the Indian financial landscape.

'Yellowstone' showdown: Taylor Sheridan's Bosque Ranch sues Cole Hauser's coffee brand over trademark dispute
Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan and show's star Cole Hauser. Sheridan's coffee company Bosque Ranch is suing Hauser's Free Rein Coffee Company for trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising. As per a November 21 suit filed in the Northern District of Texas' federal court in San Angelo, Sheridian has accused Free Rein of using a «strikingly similar» brand mark to Bosque Ranch in order to «mistake or to deceive as to the affiliation, connection, or association» of the company with Bosque Ranch, according to court documents. Bosque Ranch contends that both brands utilize logos composed of intertwined letters, with BR representing Bosque Ranch and FR representing Free Rein. The claim is that these logos are too similar, potentially causing confusion among customers. Bosque Ranch serves as both the name of Sheridan's coffee company, launched in June, and the designation for his multipurpose ranch where productions like «Yellowstone» and its spinoffs are filmed.
