Australia batter Khawaja reprimanded by ICC over black armband to support Palestinians in Gaza
Australia batter Usman Khawaja has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council for wearing a black armband in support of Palestinians in Gaza during the first cricket test against Pakistan. ICC regulations prevent cricketers from displaying messages of political, religious or racial causes during international matches. Khawaja was born in Pakistan and is the first Muslim to play test cricket for Australia. An ICC spokesperson confirmed the charge in breach of the clothing and equipment regulations to Australian media. «Usman displayed a personal message (armband) during the first test match against Pakistan without seeking the prior approval of Cricket Australia and the ICC to display it, as required in the regulations for personal messages,» it said. «This is a breach under the category of an 'other breach' and the sanction for a first offense is a reprimand.» The charge means Khawaja can accept a warning and continue to play.

Trump’s run for the White House will test America’s Rule of Law
In a setback this week for Donald Trump, the Supreme Court of Colorado ordered his name struck off the ballot in the American state’s primary polls for his Republican party to pick its candidate for next year’s presidential election. This has cast a shadow on the candidacy of the former White House occupant, who was held ineligible for federal office under the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment. Brought in after the US Civil War, its Section 3 bars from such positions people who took an oath to uphold the Constitution but “engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the country or gave “aid or comfort" to its enemies.

Don’t worry! Market had a much-needed pullback: Rahul Sharma, JM Financial
Rahul Sharma, Director & Head — Technical & Derivatives Research, JM Financial Services, says “for the next couple of days, the market may face volatility. Weak hands are probably out of the market in yesterday's correction. Having said that, there are two levels to keep an eye on. One is 20,950; we reversed 25 points from that level in the morning, in the first half of the trading session today. So that remains a crucial support and that is where the put writers are also present both in the weekly as well as the monthly expiry.” Do you think there are any chances of visiting the morning lows or does it appear that the station has been taken out and now we are looking at higher levels? So two things. Yesterday's correction was more like the boy who cried wolf. Everybody was expecting that, it would be the FIIs who are selling at the year-end, booking profits, closing their books at a record high, etc, etc. But the data just does not prove that. In fact, they have added longs in index futures, they have added longs in stock futures on a down day. And even the cash figure, the sell figure was hardly anything to be worried about.
