It mentions that Ashwini was provided Rs 4,50,000 under TOPS and Rs 1,48,04,080 under Annual calender for Training and Competition (ACTC), which included the procurement of Game Ready recovery equipment, international competitions and sparring partner in the Tokyo cycle. «I'm absolutely shocked… I don't mind not getting money but telling the nation that I got money is ridiculous. I haven't received it. Like if you're talking about national camp, then that 1.5 Crore is spent on all the campers,» Ashwini told PTI.

Life Insurance Corporation of India is preparing for a second legal battle over trading in insurance policies, something the insurance behemoth says is illegal, arguing that such transactions threaten to hit at the root of the industry and expose policy buyers to losses. India's biggest insurer is seeking to challenge legally the campaign by ACESO, a company that claims to be an asset monetiser and focused on buying up LIC policies, said officials aware of the plans. It is luring policyholders to transfer their rights to it for a consideration instead of surrendering them. ACESO, founded by two chartered accountants — Ketan Mehta and Himanshu Ashar — is offering ALIP or Assign Your Life Insurance Policy. This it says is based on a legal contract which is permissible under the law. It brings double benefits to those involved in the insurance policy — the agents and the policyholder. When assigned, ACESO is said to be paying more than what LIC would have paid and the continuity of commissions for agents.

Andhra Pradesh government is set to initiate the first-ever skill and industry census to gauge the state's labour force profile and create linkages between the unemployed youth and industry. The state-wide census will capture the demography with social and economic details of over 1.6 crore households. The exercise would be first initiated through a pilot project in one mandal (smallest administrative unit) and one educational institution towards the end of September. After the data is collected and cleaned up, the state government will initiate a state-wide census in January 2025. A highly-placed state government source told ET, «The census will take about 12 months. After this, the data will be cleaned and collated.»

The first round of questions by the federal probe agency is to take their statements and understand and evaluate them. «The probe has commenced and since there are allegations and counter-allegations, those related to the case were summoned,» said one of the persons cited. «Their statements are being studied to evaluate if there is a case of money laundering and if the allegations levelled by the complainant in the predicate offence is indeed true.»

New Delhi: Coal India Ltd has removed the limit on the quantity purchased by power producers and allowed supply beyond their annual contracted volume. The company has done away with an earlier provision which allowed coal supplies up to a maximum of 120% of the contracted quantity to power plants, it said on Tuesday. Now, the simplification would benefit the power plants which prefer to lift higher quantities of coal beyond their stipulated contracted quantity, it said.

Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production will invest up to ₹3,000 crore on its flagship coal bed methane (CBM) block in Raniganj, West Bengal to raise gas production, a senior company executive said. «We are determined to raise our contribution to India's overall gas output to 5% in the next five years from 1% currently. We plan to invest around ₹3,000 crore to reach this target,» said Pankaj Kalra, CEO of Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production. Kalra added that the company has an acreage of 500 sq km, of which it has only harnessed 70 sq km. «So over 80% is still to be harnessed.»

Vodafone Idea (Vi) CEO Akshaya Moondra has signalled that the telco may keep its 5G base pricing lower than bigger rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to attract customers as it will be a new entrant in the space. «A decision on 5G pricing will be taken closer to launch, but when you are just starting with a (5G) network which is not yet mature, one will have to look at pricing in that fashion,» Moondra said at Vi's fiscal first quarter earnings call Tuesday.
