Vedanta Ltd will issue secured, rated, listed non-redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) worth ₹1,000 crore later this week. The 15-month tenure NCDs will have a floating rate linked to MIBOR. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including debt repayment and capital expenditure. The NCDs will be raised on July 11 and pay 3.75%over one month overnight indexed swap (OIS) rate. As of March 2024, Vedanta's gross debt was ₹71,759 crore, with net debt at ₹56,338 crore. The company held cash and equivalents of ₹15,421 crore. FY24 finance costs rose to ₹9,465 crore from ₹6,225 crore, driven by increased borrowings and higher interest rates.

Bank credit rose 14% on-year as of June 28, outpacing deposit growth at 11%, putting the spotlight yet again on central bank's concerns over the gap that could lead to asset-liability mismatches. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has amended the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 enhancing some powers of the Lieutenant Governor of the erstwhile state. President Droupadi Murmu has given her approval to the amendments in the rule exercising the powers conferred by section 55 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, (34 of 2019) read with the Proclamation dated 31st October 2019 issued under section 73 of the Act, a notification issued by the MHA mentions. The President made the rules further to amend the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019.

Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed a Gujarat High Court order asking the state government to resume the process of taking back nearly 108 hectares of grazing land given to an Adani Group entity in 2005 near the Mundra port. A bench of justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan took note of the appeal of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd that the impugned order is required to be stayed in the interest of justice. «Issue notice. Stay of impugned order,» the bench said. On July 5, the state government had informed the high court that it will take back nearly 108 hectares of 'gauchar' (grazing) land which was given to an Adani Group entity in 2005.

Jairam Ramesh said on Thursday. In an interview with PTI, Ramesh said there is no one formula the INDIA bloc will follow for state elections. The order came after Raselle Capital proposed to settle the instant proceedings initiated against it without «admitting or denying the findings of facts and conclusions» of the law. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) initiated adjudication proceedings against the applicant (Raselle Capital VCC) for the alleged violations of Sebi's Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) rules and other market norms.

Odisha Police will use AI technology on a pilot basis for effective traffic and crowd management during the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, a senior police official said. The Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot festival, is believed to be as old as the Jagannath Temple in Puri. This year, Lord Jagannath Yatra will take place on July 7. «This is the first time, as a pilot project, we are trying to use AI-based CCTV coverage where all those CCTV points which we have around 40 points where we have placed CCTV cameras. We would be using AI amalgamated with the CCTV system. We would also be using a drone system to identify the blind spots, identify the jam areas. We are also using drones along with the PA (Public address) system so that there are 4-5 identified spots every year where we normally face huge traffic jams and to help assist the police officers,» Additional DGP, Odisha, Dayal Gangwar, told on Saturday.
