Renukaswamy murder case, in which Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others are accused, would be filed after gathering sufficient evidence, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Monday. All the accused are currently under judicial custody till July 18. According to police sources, 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, had sent obscene messages to Gowda, which enraged Darshan, allegedly leading to his murder. His body was found near a stormwater drain next to an apartment in Sumanahalli here on June 9. «Accused have been arrested, investigation is on, evidence is being collected, after that chargesheet will be filed. Can it be fast forwarded just because the media says?» Parameshwara told reporters in response to a question.

Honda Cars India on Monday reported a 5 per cent fall in wholesales in the domestic market to 4,804 units in June. The company had dispatched 5,080 units to its dealers in the domestic market in June 2023, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) said in a statement. Exports, however, grew two-fold to 4,972 units last month against 2,112 units exported in June last year, it added.

Agniveer named Shrikant Kumar Choudhary from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh took his own life on Tuesday night, reported The Times of India. He used his INSAS service rifle inside the technical area of the Indian Air Force complex at Agra's Tajnagari under Shahganj police station. The reasons behind his actions are currently unknown as no suicide note was found. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances leading to Shrikant's death. His cremation took place on Thursday in his native village Narayanpur, with a ceremonial guard of honour.

SKM on Thursday announced it will resume its agitation over its pending demands, including a legal guarantee to MSP and loan waiver, and submit a memorandum to the prime minister and the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), which led the 2020-21 farmers' protest, made the announcement a day after its general body met. «The general body has decided to resume the agitation demanding implementation of the agreement, dated December 9, 2021, that the Union government has with the SKM, signed by the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Government of India, and other key demands affecting the livelihood of farmers,» the SKM said. The total amount will be Rs 1.65 crore approximately, it said in the «clarification» on Wednesday that came after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi shared on X a video purportedly of Ajay's father, who stated that they had not received any money.

High Court has issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding a petition filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging his arrest. The court has directed the CBI to submit a response within seven days and allowed two days for a rejoinder. The matter is scheduled for a hearing on July 17, 2024. Kejriwal filed his plea on Monday challenging his recent arrest by the CBI in the Excise Policy case, alleging that the agency's actions were driven by malice.

The company will soon be submitting requisite applications with the stock exchanges for effecting change of name and trading in the shares of the company in its new name and a new symbol, the NBFC said in a regulatory filing. “Strategically, our business will continue to be retail-focused built on the two loan products of affordable home loans and mortgage-backed loans to micro, medium and small businesses. We will pursue AUM growth in an asset-light model, working as an origination-engine to source loans in co-lending and sell-down partnerships with banks and financial institutions,” the company said.
