India vs South Africa Live Score 3rd T20I: Locked at 1-1 after the first two games, India and South Africa will be hoping for another nail-biting thriller when they face off at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday. Sheikh Hasina Red Notice: Bangladesh seeks Interpol's help to arrest ousted PM and others
Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Md Tajul Islam has written to Inspector General of Police Md Moinul Islam, seeking action to issue a red notice through Interpol for ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her aides, a media report said on Tuesday. The chief prosecutor sent the letter to the Inspector General of Police on Tuesday, Bangla language daily Prothom Alo reported, citing sources at the tribunal. The development comes two days after Law Affairs adviser Asif Nazrul on Sunday said Bangladesh will seek Interpol's assistance in repatriating Hasina from India and other «fugitives» to face trial for alleged crimes against humanity. Hasina and her party leaders face accusations of ordering brutal suppression of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, resulting in numerous casualties during the July-August protests. The movement later intensified into a large-scale uprising, forcing Hasina to flee to India on August 5.

Rivals of ousted Bangladesh leader Sheikh Hasina foil her party's attempt to hold a rally
Sheikh Hasina on Sunday thwarted a plan by her Awami League party to hold a rally in Bangladesh's capital, seen as a potential first effort to make a comeback on the streets since she fled the country in August amid a mass uprising. The rally in Dhaka by Hasina's party was to commemorate the death of a party activist on Nov. 10, 1987, which had sparked a mass protest against former military dictator H.M. Ershad. He was eventually ousted from office, ending his nine-year rule in 1990. The day is commemorated as «democracy day.» In 1991, Bangladesh switched to a parliamentary democracy from a presidential form of government, and since then Hasina and her rival, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, became the most powerful political figures in the country.

Onion prices soar to 5-year high amid supply woes, exports boost
onion prices continued this week as the quality of the kharif crop from Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Karnataka was poor and boosted demand for the old, pricier crop at a time when there was also a surge in export demand. The maximum price of best quality onions jumped to Rs 70 per kg from Rs 51/kg a fortnight back, while the average prices have increased to Rs 58/kg from Rs 51/kg during the same period at the Pimpalgaon market in Nashik. There has also been a surge in exports as Bangladesh removed import duty on onions. Traders expect prices to decline only after 8-10 days as newer crop arrivals start elsewhere in the country. Onion prices crossed the five-year high of Rs 54/kg last week at the benchmark Lasalgaon market in Nashik. Traders said it was because of supply shortages as the wholesale markets were closed for many days across the country for Diwali. There was a rise of 30-35% during the last week in the wholesale prices.

Exploration, monetisation of natural gas will benefit Northeast: IGX
monetisation of natural gas deposits in the northeastern region can help cut down its import, while also boosting the local economy and providing more trade opportunities, a top official of the Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) said. Rajesh K Mediratta, Managing Director and CEO of IGX, the country's first automated national level gas exchange, maintained that the region can supply the surplus gas not only to other parts of the country, but also to neighbouring Bangladesh and earn significant revenue. «The Northeast has tremendous potential in the production of natural gas. As the Northeast Gas Grid is likely to become operational by 2026, the deposit of 6 million MMSCMD of natural gas can be monetised by the existing producers,» Mediratta said. «This will add to the country's energy security as IGX will help gas producers sell the surplus gas to the other regions,» he said, while speaking at a seminar on 'Gas Market Development for North East' here on Friday.
