‘UPI to go live in France in three to four months..,’ says NIPL CEO Ritesh Shukla
ANI, Ritesh Shukla said that India and France have just signed the agreement and Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced it during his visit to France. He said that they are working on creating readiness on both sides with banks in India and merchants in France. Speaking about the commencement of UPI operations in France, Shukla said, "We are working on creating readiness on both sides with banks in India and with merchants in France and I think it will take about three to four months for us to go live, so we are working towards making that happen." Indian tourists visiting France will now have the convenience of paying for Eiffel Tower tickets and other attractions in rupees, following an agreement between both countries to utilize the Indian government's Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

Assam floods: Over 1 lakh people affected across 10 districts with Golaghat being worst hit
Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) daily flood report indicated that over 98,800 people are affected in Sonitpur, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, and Udalguri districts. Assam state went on high alert following the release of water from Bhutan’s Kurichhu dam, the flood situation in Assam worsened and still remains grim as rescue efforts are underway. Among the worst-hit areas, Golaghat witnessed nearly 29,000 affected individuals, followed by Dhemaji with 28,000 and Sivasagar with 13,500, the report mentioned.

Bhutan Kurichhu dam has not led to severe flooding along the villages in Assam's Baksa and Chirang districts. This has been made possible following regulated and controlled release of water from Kurichhu Hydropower Plant. Speaking to reporters at Assam House here on Saturday, Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma disclosed that the Government of Assam had urged the Bhutan Government to release water from the dam in a 'controlled way' in the morning hours, instead of at night.

‘Coal export strategy in works; local lithium hunt gains pace’
NEW DELHI : The Centre will devise a strategy to tap export markets for Indian coal as domestic production sets new records, Union minister of parliamentary affairs, coal and mines Pralhad Joshi said.
