NEW DELHI : Exports by Indian sellers to Amazon marketplaces the world over are on track to surpass $8 billion in 2023, said a top executive at the company. The business update comes over a year after the global e-commerce marketplace had doubled targets to achieve $20 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2025. The update is part of Amazon Global Selling, the retailer’s e-commerce exports program, that has grown to more than 1.25 lakh Indian exporters since its launch in 2015.

Veritas Finance Private Limited has raised Rs1,050 crore from Multiples Private Equity along with its co-investors including International Finance Corporation (IFC) to expand access to capital for India’s micro, small and medium enterprises, stated a press release. ₹1,200 crore investment led by Multiples Private Equity (PE) along with its co-investors including International Finance Corporation (IFC) to expand access to capital for India’s micro, small and medium enterprises.  The deal comprises of a primary issuance of Rs 400 crore and provides a part exit to early investors, British International Investment (BII) and Lok Capital, the lender and Multiples PE said in a statement.  While Multiples PE, along with co-investor World Bank’s private investment arm IFC and others, will be infusing ₹1,050 crore; Avendus Future Leaders Fund also participated in the transaction investing Rs 150 crore.  Veritas proposes to use the fresh capital to enter new markets and strengthen its new product lines, including affordable housing loans.  “The fresh capital raised will provide significant runway for growth, help deepen our existing offerings and expand into the affordable housing space. We strongly believe these partnerships will further catalyse our mission to serve the underserved," said D. Arulmany, MD & CEO of Veritas.

Not only NEU members, but the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) and the NASUWT are re-balloting their members for support in strike action. On the other hand, the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is holding a ballot for national strike action in England for the first time ever. While condemning the strike action, the Department for Education has stated that it would cause «real damage» to students' learning. Teachers belonging to NASUWT in 56 sixth-form colleges in England have voted to go on strike and take other forms of action. If the ASCL, NASUWT, or NAHT take any action, it will happen during the autumn term, and they will work together with the NEU. This could result in complete school closures.

RAF 617 Squadron's mascot died in 1943 on the day of the raid of German dams during World War 2 after being hit by a car. The mascot to the Wing commander was buried outside Hangar Two, which was home to Guy Gibson's office. RAF is planning to relocate the grave as the site is to be used for housing asylum seekers starting in August. RAF Heritage moved an application to the West Lindsey District Council in May this year to get permission for the removal of the grave and the memorial of the dog in the process to maintain asylum for the seekers. Although, people are expected to point out objections against the removal of the dog's grave. But, as per the RAF Heritage, the grave will be well preserved if kept at RAF Marham in King's Lynn. Now, the meeting is to take place at Lincolnshire Showground's Epic Centre at 6:30 pm BST.
