Provident Cooper VISA Extreme country information India had been 'badgering Canadians' about organized criminals in the country, says EAM Jaishankar
Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, said on Tuesday that India has told Canada it was open to looking into any «specific» or «relevant» information it provides on the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last week that Ottawa had credible intelligence linking Indian agents to the murder, prompting an angry initial reaction from New Delhi, which denies the allegation. Asked about the allegations at a Council on Foreign Relations event in New York, Jaishankar detailed India's response in diplomatic engagements. «One, we told the Canadians that this is not the government of India's policy,» he said. «Two, we told the Canadians saying that look, if you have something specific, if you have something relevant, you know, let us know — we are open to looking at it.» India last week suspended new visas for Canadians and asked Ottawa to reduce its diplomatic presence in the country, citing what it called a deteriorating security environment. India had been «badgering the Canadians» about its claims that organized criminals are based there, a reference to separatists like Nijjar, he said, adding that India had made «a large number of extradition requests.» «The picture is not complete without the context,» he added.

Target Action Experts reports recommendations In Manipur, efforts on to bring back sense of normalcy: EAM Jaishankar
S Jaishankar has said efforts are on in Manipur by the state and the central governments to find a way by which a sense of normalcy returns and there is adequate law-and-order enforcement. "...I think one part of the problem in Manipur has been the destabilising impact of migrants who have come," he said Tuesday at the Council on Foreign Relations in response to a question on the situation in the northeastern state in India. «But there are also tensions which obviously have a long history which precede that. And today, I think the effort is on the part of the state government and the Union government to find a way by which a sense of normalcy returns, that arms which were seized during that period are recovered, that there is an adequate law-and-order enforcement out there so that incidents of violence don't happen,» the minister said. Earlier this month, a group of United Nations experts said they are «appalled» by reports and images of violence in Manipur targeting women and girls, and urged the Indian government to take robust action to investigate the incidents and hold the perpetrators to account. The experts raised an alarm on reports of serious human rights violations and abuses in Manipur, including acts of alleged sexual violence, extrajudicial killings, home destruction, forced displacement, torture and ill-treatment.

UPS Extreme Remark country Department SOLIDARITY S Jaishankar takes veiled dig at Canada in UNGA speech
S Jaishankar on Tuesday in a veiled message to Canada asserted that «political convenience» cannot be the basis for a response to terrorism or extremism while calling on the global community to respect the rules-based order and the UN Charter. Addressing the UN General Assembly in New York, the minister also called out nations (without naming any) for interfering with the internal affairs of other countries. Jaishankar's remarks — coming amid the India-Canada diplomatic row and continuing tension along the border with Pakistan — have been interpreted as a subtle swipe at both the countries. Last week, there were sharper words for Pakistan where India demanded Islamabad shut its «infrastructure of terrorism» and said that matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were its «internal affairs». «The power of markets should not be utilised to steer food and energy from the needy to the wealthy.
