Disney Plus is set to implement stricter measures against password sharing and account usage outside of one's household, with these new regulations initially taking effect in Canada Starting on November 1. Subscribers in Canada received email notifications from the streaming service on Wednesday, outlining the updated rules concerning account sharing. Disney CEO Bob Iger had previously indicated the company's intention to address the issue of password sharing, aligning with the approach adopted by streaming behemoth Netflix, which began imposing an $8 charge for additional users on a single account earlier this year. Disney in the updated Subscriber Agreement, specified that a household includes only “the collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence" and used by the people who live there. The agreement also suggested that Disney+ will introduce new fee options for users who want to add outside members to their accounts, noting that the upcoming rule applies to everyone “unless otherwise permitted by your Service Tier”. The company is following in the footsteps of Netflix, which officially began cracking down on password sharing in the US and other countries in May.

Lottery Jackpot Won the lottery? What to do if you take home the Lotto 6/49 jackpot
million up for grabs on Wednesday night in the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball draw, there will be a lot of Canadians waiting to check their numbers once the lucky draw is made. But once that gold ball has been dropped —and according to lottery officials it is guaranteed someone will win the $68 million — what should the lucky winner or winners do?Well, according to Stephan Desbiens of Exponent Investment Management, the very first thing to do is stop, think and breathe given you have a big influx of cash coming in.“Just to try to really understand the moment that you’re in and possibly how things could really impact the rest of your life,” he said in an interview with Global News on Wednesday. Then, sign your ticket and store it somewhere safe because there will be some additional things you’re going to want to do first before cashing the winning slip of paper.Given you’re about to come into an influx of money, Frank Hounjet with Virtus Group said you should contact your attorney, accountant and financial planner so you can plan out what you’ll do with the new funding, while also working to prevent legal issues that could arise. In doing so, you can also start to plan for the resulting publicity and potential solicitations you could get from not just friends, charities and scammers, but even family members. So essentially trying to figure out how you want to deal those winnings, how you want to plan out your needs for retirement, what you want to donate and give way to family, friends,” he said. “What you might find is that after when you’ll find yourself with a lot of new friends and maybe some new family members that come out of the woodwork.

UPS Cooper VISA country recommendations Indian Indian government continues to purchase Canada lentils for buffer stock
lentils from Canada despite the worsening of diplomatic ties between the two nations as New Delhi seeks to build buffer stocks to arrest the high price of pulses, said people familiar with the matter. The two central government agencies — National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) – have recently issued tenders to procure red lentils (masoor whole) from the local market as well as through imports to stabilise prices. “The two agencies have floated tenders for domestic as well as imported lentils. They have, however, not mentioned any restriction on the country of origin,” one of the persons cited above said, adding lentils that will be procured have to comply with specifications of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The two agencies, together, began issuing tenders four times every week to procure lentils earlier this month. Erratic monsoons this year in key growing states have caused a drop in acreage, leading to a rally in prices of the protein-rich staple.

economy WhatsApp country reports strain Immigrants and students fuel Canada's population growth to 70-year high
Canada — driven largely by a substantial influx of immigrants and students. These numbers come at a time when the Trudeau government is stuggling to control an acute housing crisis, exacerbated by a lag in construction and the arrival of a large number of newcomers. Statscan had previously reported a population growth rate of 2.9% in the 12-month period ending on July 1, 2023. However, the release on Wednesday offers a more detailed breakdown of this growth. Economists have noted that the arrival of new residents is placing a strain on public services and impacting the Canadian economy, which had, until recently, been experiencing overheating. The population of Canada on July 1, 2023, reached 40,097,761, marking an increase of 1,158,705 individuals compared to the previous year. A staggering 98% of this growth can be attributed to net international migration.
