Swiggy has increased the platform fee that it levies on food delivery orders to Rs 3 from Rs 2. The Prosus-backed company had started charging a flat platform fee to its customers in April regardless of the order value. Its rival, Gurgaon-based Zomato, also started charging a Rs 2 platform fee, which it subsequently increased to Rs 3 in some locations.

Pillai, the alleged frontman of Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader Kavitha Kalvakuntla, has submitted that he is neither the frontman nor the representative of Kavitha of any liquor cartel allegedly involved in the Delhi liquor excise scandal. According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Pillai, a Hyderabad-based businessman and co-accused in the Delhi government's now scrapped excise policy case is Kalvakuntla's «benami» or frontman. In his bail plea filed earlier this month before the Delhi High Court, Pillai has submitted that the entire case made out against him by the ED is solely based on statements of witnesses and co-accused recorded under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Statements recorded under the said section are admissible in a court of law. Advocate Nitesh Rana, appearing on behalf of Pillai, argued before the high court that the admissibility of such statements is to be examined at the stage of trial.

National Aerospace Laboratories expects to finalise the production partner for its two-seater trainer aircraft HANSA-New Generation, in a month, a top NAL official said. A market study done by Bengaluru-based NAL has shown there is a potential demand for about 400-500 such aircraft in India in the next 5-10 years, Program Director of Civil Aircrafts at NAL, C M Anand, told PTI. The NAL-developed HANSA-NG features a state-of-the-art-glass cockpit, a Rotax-912iSc sport engine and a steerable nose wheel.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has increased to 18 branches across the country from nine in 2019, when Amit Shah took charge of the Union home ministry, while proposals for 10 more branches are pending with the ministry, said officials. The price action was accompanied with strong volume as more than 69.32 lakh shares changed hands on the NSE around 12:50 pm, with the total traded value of the stock standing at Rs 520.11 crore. The gains were on the back of the real estate company registering the highest sales of Rs 11,007.3 crore in H1 FY24, up 69% year-on-year (YoY), while the quarterly sales jumped 102% YoY to Rs 7,092.6 crore during Q2FY24. The sales during this period is attributed to 6.84 mn square feet volume with an average realisation of Rs 10,369 per square feet, which rose 29% YoY for apartments/villas and average realisation of Rs 6,753 per square feet for plot, up 62% YoY. The group sold 3,659 units during Q2 FY24.
